Bought this as a fun and useful tool to have on my backpack to keep it off the ground when I'm at a table.Overall, it seems well built, but takes a bit of fiddling to get the hook into the open/ready position from the closed position.The hook works on most table tops as long as the table top is not more than an inch. More than that, the design of the hook prevents it from staying on as it slips off the edge. In this case, a standard 'handbag hook' or 'handbag hanger' is cheaper, as portable (just toss it in a pocket in the bag you're carrying) and fits on more tabletops.This product only really makes sense if you want to be able to also attach this to poles, branches (more friction) and the like and be able to have it work as what it really is - a(n overpriced) carabiner.
