Best System for painting cabinets and more
As a professional painter, Iโve used several HVLP systems over the years, but the Fuji Q5 Platinum paired with the 2Qt Pressure Cup stands out as one of the most powerful and reliable setups Iโve worked with. Power & Precision: The Q5 Platinum offers 9.5 PSI of pressure, giving me excellent atomization even with high-viscosity coatings like lacquers, urethanes, and even some thicker cabinet paints. The variable speed control is a huge advantageโit lets me fine-tune the turbine pressure based on the material and surface, helping reduce overspray and waste. 2Qt Pressure Cup: The pressure-fed 2-quart cup is a game-changer for larger jobs. It allows for continuous spraying without constantly refilling, and because it's pressure-fed, I can spray in any directionโeven upwardโwithout worrying about material flow issues. It's also helped me get a smoother, more consistent finish on vertical surfaces. Build Quality & Noise: The build is solid, professional-grade. It feels like a long-term investment. While the turbine is powerful, itโs surprisingly quiet thanks to the noise-reduction technology built into the Q-series Drawbacks: The system is not cheap, and the pressure cup setup requires careful cleaning and maintenance to prevent clogs. But if you're in this business seriously, it's well worth it for the performance and finish quality it delivers. Final Verdict: The Fuji Q5 Platinum with the 2Qt Pressure Cup is ideal for professionals who demand top quality finishes on cabinets, furniture, or fine woodworking. Itโs powerful, precise, and efficientโhighly recommended for serious painters and finishers.

Super spray system - excellent finish quality, easy cleaning & setup
I've tried spraying in the past and always had mixed results in terms of the finish quality. This is night & day different. The finish quality coming out of this system is as good as any professional or factory paint job. I could easily match the custom cabinet finish when changing the color the cabinetmaker sprayed. Of course high quality paints are a must - Sherwin or Benjamin for sure. It was easy to setup and learning how to use it was a simple matter of reading the directions and watching a couple of YT videos - FujiSpray has several and of course there are tons of others who show how to use the system with different paints. Cleanup is pretty easy too. Some of my earlier tries with other spray systems it seemed to take as long to cleanup as it did to paint. Cleaning up an HVLP system is just cleaning the gun and the Fuji guns are pretty simple to clean. For even faster & simpler cleanup I went with 3M's PPS (2.0) system. Not only can you skip cleaning the cup (the PPS cup is resealable/reusable or can be disposed of) but you can cap the PPS liner and have the ability to do touch-ups anytime without having to mix or thin the paint. Just store the leftover lines upside down so the filter screen doesn't dry out. Also, the system's gun comes with a 1.3 spray tip which is a great all-purpose tip but getting a 1.8 would be good if you want to spray latex without needing to over-thin. This isn't a cheap system for someone who's used to looking at the airless sprayers at the big box stores but there's a world of difference between the finish quality and ease of use vs. those airless guns. It's a case of getting a professional tool to get professional results. There are even more expensive pro tools out there but this is a good sweet spot for value and quality.

I'm almost a professional sprayer now :-)
I'm a builder and instead of purchasing 30k of kitchen cabinets for my own home, decided to order the casework, doors, drawers..etc from individual suppliers knowing I'd have a lot of finishing to do. I'm not without skills but I was a little apprehensive to get going on all the spraying..there was much to figure out with the viscosities of the paints, air pressures, spray gun settings and techniques but the learning curve was not too long. I couldn't be happier with the finishes...I was able to lay down the paints and sealers with a lot of control and had very even sheens. I used BM Advance paints and the needle that comes with the Fuji spary gun was adequate size. As for the actual unit...it is a very solid setup of high quality. The turbine is quiet and I was able to work in its vicinity all day without it driving me crazy. The spray gun was very easy to dismantle and clean. A couple minor things...the short whip hose came off it's barbed connector a few times at the turbine but a hose clamp solved that...and the quick connect at the spray gun also came apart but I was able to get it back together as well. Add to your setup...instead of making a spray booth, I purchased a 10x17 "garage" at Harbor Freight...really good quality and lots of room to work for $170!

The best Sprayer I have ever used. Highly Recommend this for Professionals.
I have been spraying finish on High-end furniture for 30 years. I ran a 6000 sqft millwork and cabinet shop for many of those years .Plus, many onsite jobs using bottom feed spray pot guns hooked to the air compressor. I typically did all the spraying. We had a system that was set up using 55 gallon drums of Catalyzed Lacquer in the shop. Up to this point that was the best finish I had ever had. I am now out on my own and doing smaller projects but I still need the high-end finish. After a lot of research, I decided on this unit. The Fuji Q5 Platinum gives me the best finish I have ever gotten, hands down, spraying the exact same Catalyzed Lacquer I did before. I am able to fine tune the sprayer to give me the right amount of airflow and finish, with very little overspray. I absolutely love this system. It is worth every penny. Not only does it give me a great finish but it is super quiet. I didn't have to have my radio cranked to hear the music while spraying and we could have a regular conversation standing right next to the machine. The Q5 Platinum is probably more than the Weekend Warrior needs but for Professionals, this is the best system out there. If I was still running the millwork shop, I would defiantly consider replacing the big system with this unit. The pictures are of cupcake holders I made for a wedding. They didn't need a great finish but it was perfect for learning what I can do with this system. The finish laid down nicely. Did I mention I love this sprayer?

Amazing Spray system ready to use
Upgraded from the Semi-Pro 2 so I could apply primer and latex with less thining and noise level. Fuji had a promo with a free gun when purchasing the Q5 so the pricing difference with Minimite 5 was worth it. This is the solution I would recommend if you are going to spray a lot of kitchen and wood furniture. You could also spray metal with the right product. Turbine is so much easier to use than compressor with regulator and oil/water filter. It has the power to tackle any work and the Gun T series much much better than the one provided in the Semi-Pro2. If you clean correctly after each use the gun, you will be worry free. I have the semi-pro 2 since 2020. Having the variable pressure allows you to reduce overspray with light material. Noise level is so much better than the semi-pro, I think the noise reduction is worth the premium compared to MiniMite. I recommend using the 3M PPS system, it will save you so much time because it includes a filter and no container to clean, just the gun. I just wish Fuji integrate a bluetooth remote like festool vaccum but the simple RF remote works well.

Professional Results with ease !!
Four years ago I purchased a Fuji Hobby Pro when I started building cabinets. Itโs been a graete system to learn on and after much use I feel I got my technique down and felt comfortable as well as confident in my abilities. As with all things like this I started to consider a Platinum system for the versatility of the T Model gun, the selective PSI, quiet operation and ability to use a pressure pot. I bought the Hobby Pro on Amazon warehouse deals at an incredible price and was hesitant to invest $2000.00 when I felt I was getting good results/comfortable with my HP2. Finally after a year I decided that as a one man cabinet shop crammed in a garage i could justify investing in a new sytsem if it made me more efficient and offered versatility. I am 100% absolutely pleased with the Q5 Platinum system! The versatility of using the pressure pot saves time spraying and clean up! The T Model gun with the adjustable fan pattern makes spraying face frames so much easier and efficient. I dout I will ever spray latex but the ajustable PSI is a plus and I am getting a much more even spray pattern and even material thickness with this new system. The quiet feature is also vey pleasant. Not having a cup attached to the gun is a real game changer! I am very pleased with this purchase and would recommend investing in a FUJI Q PLATINUM wheather you are a weekend wood worker or a professional

After much research - I've purchased the Fuji Q5 Platinum Spray System!
I'm building a built-in wall bookcase and installing it in one of my boy's bedrooms. He's asked that I finish it with paint. I've not completed that many woodworking projects that required paint, as they've mostly been finished with a wipe-on varnish. So I embarked on a journey of exploration and learning as much as I can about spray system options. After a good bit of research, I've settled on the Fuji Q5 Platinum Spray System. I've just received the unit, inspected it, read the manual, and tested the system (with water) simply to get familiar with the sprayer features. This is a well made system (cyclone, spray gun, and other smaller items to assist with cleaning, and determining paint viscosity). I'm impressed with the quality and can't wait to begin the painting process. I'll provide an update once I've primed and applied the topcoat on the project.

Fine finish but with a learning curve
Overall itโs a quality unit, noise level is reasonable, equipment is well built, thin finishes are easy to spray out of the can. The issues I had with it was trying to spray thicker materials by learning how to thin the material properly and how to maintain the spray gun after each use. I would probably gravitate toward a gravity fed cup in the future as it is more comfortable to hold. This is a good product for clean and thin finishes because youโll get great results out of the box. If you are looking to spray urethane enamel, latex, primer, I think there is a lot to learn.

Paint like a Pro the first week you own this awesome spray system.
I'm a carpenter building cabinetry for new kitchens and closets. I purchased the Fuji Q5 sprayer to keep the finishing in house. This sprayer lives up to its hype. Within a week I could lay down a professional looking finish on shaker style doors, drawer fronts, and panels. The Q5 has a turbine speed control dial right on the front of the box which is nice. But the key to a great finish is the included viscosity cup. Learn how to thin your product to match the air cap set, dial in the turbine output, and you can't go wrong. The included 1.3mm air cap set worked flawlessly for me to lay down an acrylic polyurethane enamel. I was expecting the odd splotch of paint I experienced with other guns. You know, when the gun pukes a few big drips that ruin it, causing you to lose religion and sand it back down and start over. But it didn't happen with this T-70 gun. I only use water-based products because I prefer the easier clean-up, and shorter dry time. I don't have a professional spray booth with air filters and negative pressure. I'm doing this in a 2-car garage with a few tarps covering the floor and two walls. The reason I like water-based is if the paint dries within 5 minutes, there's way less chance for dust and contaminates to land in my fresh paint. The Q5 delivers excellent atomization so the material is dry to the touch within a few minutes. I highly recommend this Fuji Q5 system. Even a beginner like me can spray professional results the first week. Taking my finishing to the next level is now just a matter of operator experience. Fuji's done their part.

Low overspray, great control!
Simple operation, fairly quiet, quality finish, works great. Realize that there will always be a bit of overspray even when adjusted properly, cut in with brush about 6 inches down from a ceiling when spraying walls then go overtop with a paint roller right after for best results (no need to apply paint to roller if wall sprayed adequately). Utilize drop cloth, respirator, ear plugs, ventilation etc when working indoors without a proper spray booth removing fumes/providing fresh air make up . Choose water base products for health reasons and thin them down appropriately for best results. Have fun!

Fantastic
I have been buying and using lower end sprayers for years and finally decided to splurge on the professional quality Q5. Almost immediately I achieved a professional finish on my first use. The quality of the machine and the gun is obvious. I canโt believe I waited this long. Iโve easily lost many times the price of this proper set up by struggling with lower end units.

Good quiet HVLP System
Much better version than the first model I used. Easier to adjust for settings and provides a great professional finish, at least for the polyurethanes I have been applicating to a variety of substrates. Also much quieter

Slim to no overspray!!!
I stained an old shed with some solid stain. I diluted the stain with 10% of water. I still had to take out the small filter because it was too tick to go through. I still had a bit of splatter coming out but it was quite windy and it was my first kick at it. The shed still turned out great! I stained my deck with a semi transparent oil based stain. I did the deck floor (huge deck approximately 850 square feet) + stairs in about two hours with a helper that followed behind to back brush. Slim to no overspray!!! Easy to clean!! I can't wait to use it in my shop for fine finishing!
