Does the LED remain on in auto mode even when the pump is not pulling current?

I believe you can not attach the ground wire and then the LED won't be on, which is how I'd prefer as I'll just leave the bilge in auto when I leave the boat in the water.

Do i need a fuse if i install this?

FOR YOUR SAFETY! Someone answered that you do not need a separate fuse, but must likely you do! Typical bilge pumps have 16 gauge or smaller lead wires, if a system failure, draws 14 amps of current, it will melt the insulation on the wires, creating a fire hazard onboard the vessel, without tripping the 15 amp circuit breaker, that is there to protect against a dead short, such as connecting the wires improperly. FOR SAFETY SAKE, USE AN INLINE FUSE OR BREAKER MATCHING THE RATING MARKED ON THE BILGE PUMP!

Is there a way to turn off indicator light to preserve battery?

I would say no because the LED indicator is built into the switch itself. I haven't measured current draw but LEDs are widely known to draw almost no current when lit

Works great with my Seaflo bilge pump

I have this switch installed with my Seaflo bilge pump box under the sink in my camper van. It works beautifully. I leave it on Auto normally and it clear the holding tank when there is an inch or so water. I will hit the manual button when I want to clear any residual water like at night or after a trip before I store the camper van.
