No voltage drop through this isolator.
This replaced a traditional 1-in 3-out diode device which had shorted internally. I could replace it with a $60 no-brand diode device, a $100+ branded diode device, or spend another $70 for this. Since I have a small 15A alternator on my 25 hp High-thrust outboard on my sailboat, every watt counts. Why waste some of it in a battery isolator? Installation was more involved because I had to run a line from the ignition-on terminal (yellow) on the key switch, and a negative return to a nearby bus. But, I think the extra money is worth it.

Very smart isolator
I have installed these in several car audio installations with outstanding results. Will need a high output alternator to complete the package but all worth it.

Works well, quality product
This works very well on our sailboat. Quality connectors and overall construction. Only thing lacking is an emergency combiner which I added using some spare wire and a battery switch.

Pro Split R
The perfect solution to charge two batteries from one source. Much better than an ACR

IMO best 2-battery isolator available
Although this isolator is intended for marine use, I installed it in a 2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser as part of a dual battery setup. After looking at all the diode- and solenoid-based systems and the Luna system, I decided on the Sterling product and have been very pleased with the results. It keeps a flooded lead acid battery and an AGM battery fully charged but isolated, with no voltage loss. Although I haven't evaluated the safety features (defaults to starting battery if unit fails, among others), the performance of this unit is confidence-inspiring. Sterling does not provide a "kit", just the isolator, so quite a bit of DIY is involved, but for those so inclined this is a great product.
