We are a husband and wife team on a mission to make great tasting chocolate without the ingredients that can cause negative reactions. We want to bring the joy of eating fabulous chocolate to everyone! This mission is driven by our love and enjoyment of chocolate combined with my food allergies/intolerances including dairymilk/lactose, gluten, soya and certain nuts. However, we didn't want to make "free from" chocolate as we knew it - by simply substituting ingredients to make tolerable products that taste just "ok". Instead we wanted to prioritise taste, texture and sensation, selecting the ingredients that would maximise the enjoyment and experience. To help with this we knew we need an expert who knows ingredients and flavour design. Luckily we found Tyrone, now Enjoy's chocolatier and Product Director. Tyrone is a Michelin Star trained pastry chef, having completed his training in France. Great snap to them, the chocolate melts beautifully, and to my surprise the filling isn't liquid like caramel, it's a truffley texture. I find the solid Enjoy Raw bars to be in the middle of the market in terms of flavour, but with the truffle filling added, it's near the top.The mint bar is my favourite, it has a good hearty peppermint kick to it, absolutely delicious, and difficult not to scoff the whole thing in one go! It tastes a bit like After Eights.The salted caramel is really delicious too, it tastes sort of cakey, like dark chocolate brownie crossed with treacle tart. Perfect balance of salt and sweet. The orange bar wasn't unpleasant, but I felt it could use a lot more orange flavour.Overall, I liked these bars a lot and I would buy them again. They don't come cheap, but for raw organic chocolate with a clean ingredients list, they're about average in price. I think that anyone new to the concept of raw vegan chocolate would enjoy these bars just as much if not more than 'regular' chocolate.
