Endless hours of fun!
These little toy crossbows are SO MUCH FUN! I lost my rubber band guns in the move and was in need of something similar, and I'm so glad to have found these. It took me a minute to figure out how to put them together and how they worked, but once I got it, the hunt was on, haha. I think my sister hates me now...In all seriousness, these are great toys, even better for being a two pack. It comes with everything to put them together aside from a screwdriver, but I kinda just used my fingers to screw it in anyway. Instructions aren't included, but it didn't take me long to figure out I needed to slot the purple part into the front of the stock (shiny side up) and screw it in place from the bottom. After that, you're set for hours of fun! Minus the five-minute dart-pick-up sessions between fires, haha. At least the bright yellow darts are easier to find on the floor than rubber bands, and if you can't find all of them, you can buy replacements from pretty much any store that sells toys. The suction cups at the end aren't super great at sticking to things, but then again, these types of darts never really are.One of my favorite things about this toy is that even at point blank range, it doesn't hurt that much to get hit, and even better -- this lack of pain isn't at the cost of range! Well, not much anyway. The darts go pretty far, but you probably wouldn't be able to shoot all the way across the house. This makes these crossbows ideal for younger kids, perhaps as a precursor to more high-powered foam dart toys. Now, as much as I love this toy, I did have to dock a star for a minor quality issue. While the purple "bow" piece was nice and finished, the wood stock was rough and one of the strings was lightly frayed. There were splinters hanging off the wood, and it clearly hadn't been sanded. This is a pretty easy fix, and the string is a simple elastic that I can replace if it snaps, but this is a problem that I shouldn't really have to fix. When I order a product, I expect it to be finished and intact. That said, these aren't major problems. In my opinion, the fun I'm going to get out of these now that I have them will end up outweighing this issue. It's just something to keep in mind before buying.

Super Fun!
As a father in my mid 30s - of course I'm getting these for my two kids. At first they may seem lackluster, but they are so much fun! It's so brilliant in its simplicity with sturdy construction and nothing that they will hurt themselves on too much - and it works! It's a blast to shoot the little darts onto glass windows and doors. We were all smiles as we played with them.Seriously these are safe, FUN , and can be enjoyed indoors and outdoors for many ages. Highly recommend!!

Clever design that is lots of fun for kids
It appears that I received an order that had been returned, based on the mangled condition of the cellophane wrapper and that there were two wrapped packages of 3 darts each and 6 loose darts. So, this review is based on the items I did receive. The crossbows are made of a soft wood that is roughly finished. I got a splinter right away, so I put on some gloves and did a little sanding of the rough edges, which was a big improvement. There are no instructions, but it was intuitive to put together, which I verified by looking at the pictures on the product page. Once you get the purple piece on, you’ll notice there is a screw at the bottom of the brown piece that is partially screwed in. You have to screw it all the way to keep the two pieces together. The screw was missing on one of mine, but luckily, I found it in the cellophane packaging. The pin that holds the trigger in place fell out of one crossbow, but I tightened it in place by jamming in a toothpick and the breaking off the end that was sticking out.Once that was completed, I set them out in my playroom and when my grandsons visited and discovered, they were so excited. Two of them came walking out holding the crossbows with one dart loaded and ready to go plus 3 extras in the little holes in the trigger piece. I hadn’t even thought of that! Despite the few initial challenges, I must say that this is a clever and ingenious set up that works well and is lots of fun to use.

Not great...
First of all, this did not come with directions and I honestly thought I got a bow and wooden gun set. We couldn't figure out how to use the darts with the bow for the longest time. I had set the wooden guns away because we don't play with toy guns (my kids are little). Once I finally realized I was supposed to assemble the "gun" part to the bow, I was disappointed because the gun portion needs to be sanded badly. I got several splinters just trying to assemble the two pieces. Once I finish sanding everything, I will try to assemble again and go from there- but so far I am not impressed.

Work exactly as described but a bit smaller than I expected.

No
These are poorly made and we couldn’t get them to work at all.

Fun toy for the kids
The kids loved it and there were no surprises with these wooden crossbows and they were pretty well made. The only complaint is that the orange tip on the darts fall off pretty easily and can pose a choking hazard for smaller children. And needless to say, once the tips fall off, the are usless unless you use some hot glue to reattach them

SOOOOO VERY CLOSE to 5 star perfection!!
These ARE awesome. The painted surfaces are a nice quality touch. But if going to those lengths, WHY are some surfaces and cutouts not finely sanded....OR SANDED AT ALL? lol...this was NOT a deterrent for my targeted son who loves all things nerf. He loves 'em---I just noticed these odd oversights during their simple assembly (no instructions needed). There IS a 'set screw' to drive in after putting the cross to the bow, but they DO function fine if waiting for the tools (or installer person, lol) to get 'em driven in.The product is certainly worthy of a 5 star recommendation if the finishing crew would sand down some obvious raw-cut areas before packing away for selling and delivery. The loading, holding, shooting mechanism is very well done, and I'm expecting these to hold up for a good duration....thousands of shots down the road. Accurate and good suction-tipped darts too!
