I feel it mostly after I have sat down for a few minutes then have to get up to walk again. I end up limping for a while because the pain is so bad. Feel like a knife is going in and out of my heel with every step. I purchased these because I was desperate for ANY relief. These have helped a ton! I also love how my heel is so much softer after wearing. You do feel it when you're walking in shoes but it's not so annoying that you would dare take them out. Sleeping with them is awesome. I HATE wearing socks to go to sleep and these don't bother me at all. They remind me of something you would find in padded bras...but ANYWAY...I put one on my right foot that has plantar fasciitis and it felt SO MUCH BETTER. Walking feels much better because i have cushioning underneath my heel. They get dirty pretty easily, I also wouldn't wear them inside of shoes because they can make your feet really sweaty. If I try to use them in high heels, my feet slip.
