Lovely conditioner that adds volume to fine hair. Nice fresh smell.

Acure has great conditioners. They are all very effective for even aged, dry hair. If you're sensitive to smells, you may not love the scents. I like that they are natural fragrances, but they smell more bio than I'd like (like cat slobber IMO). I've tried many varieties and this one also smells like that, so will have to plug my nose I guess. A small annoyance- the label covers much of the bottle and it's a gross paper sticker than doesn't come off without a lot of work.

Ingredients overall seem fine but those with sensitive skin may experience issues as one reviewer mentioned an itchy scalp. Here is an "AI"- generated report on the full ingredients (source: ChatGPT). That’s a well-formulated ingredient list overall — it looks like it’s for a **mild cleanser or shampoo** containing natural extracts and gentle surfactants. There aren’t any major “red flag” ingredients, but a few deserve mention depending on **skin type, sensitivities, and intended use**. Here’s a breakdown of **potential concerns or sensitivities**: --- ### 🧴 **Surfactants / Cleansing Agents** * **Cocamidopropyl Betaine** – A *gentle, coconut-derived surfactant* used to boost foam and reduce irritation. * ⚠️ *Concern:* Some individuals develop allergic contact dermatitis from residual amidoamine or DMAPA (manufacturing byproducts). If you have sensitive skin or eczema, patch testing is wise. * **Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isethionate, Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate, Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate** – All are **mild, sulfate-free surfactants** and generally well-tolerated. --- ### 🌿 **Conditioning and Botanical Extracts** * **Cocoglucosides Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride** – Conditioning agents that reduce static and improve texture; generally safe. * **Aloe, Argan, Sea Buckthorn, Avocado, CoQ10, and various fruit and flower extracts** – Provide antioxidants and hydration. * ⚠️ *Concern:* Botanicals can cause irritation or allergic reactions in very sensitive individuals. The essential oils (lemongrass, lavender, rosemary, cedar) are more likely culprits. --- ### 🌸 **Essential Oils & Fragrance Components** * **Lavandula Hybrida Oil, Cymbopogon Flexuosus (Lemongrass) Oil, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Oil, Juniperus Virginiana (Red Cedar) Oil** – Provide scent and potential antimicrobial effects. * ⚠️ *Concern:* These contain **fragrance allergens** (like limonene, citral, linalool). Can cause irritation or sensitization, especially for those with fragrance sensitivity or compromised skin barriers. --- ### 🧪 **Preservatives & Acids** * **Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Levulinate, Levulinic Acid** – Mild, natural-preservative system. Generally low-irritation, though **potassium sorbate** can cause mild irritation in some. * **Citric Acid** – pH adjuster; harmless unless skin is very reactive. --- ### ✅ **Overall Assessment** * **Safe for most users** — sulfate-free, largely plant-derived, no harsh synthetic preservatives. * **Patch test recommended** — especially if you have sensitive skin, eczema, or a history of reactions to natural extracts or essential oils. * **Fragrance-sensitive users** might prefer a fragrance-free alternative due to the essential oils.

I like this Acure conditioner overall, especially for how well it detangles and leaves my hair feeling soft without feeling heavy or greasy. I have fine strands but a lot of hair, and this is one of the most effective conditioners I’ve found for keeping it smooth and manageable without weighing it down or using ingredients I stay away from. I also appreciate that it’s a clean brand with simple ingredients and doesn’t leave my hair feeling dry. The only downside for me is the mint scent, which is stronger than I expected and not really my favorite, but it fades after rinsing. Performance-wise, it works really well, and I’ll continue using it.
