is this set appropriate for an 8 year old?

My 10 year old sits in them but she's definitely too big. They had the weight dinne. Shes about 80lbs. They are perfect size for 1-1/2 to 5 years.

Do the chair legs come with padded ends?

They have a kind of plastic end cap on the chair legs. We have wood floors and they have never been scratched while sliding around. They are also on tight enough that I can not pull them off.

Picture shows colored but description says "Black" Which are they?

they are multi-colored, just as in picture. very good quality - sturdy. I was really pleased with this set.
