Color Ultime Hair Color Cream, 5.28 Cocoa Red (Packaging May Vary)

After going white in my 30's I have used Nice and easy 108, 109 and 110. For years. Recently they changed their scent and I can't stand it. So I tried this, I was expecting the worst. I was Amazed! No burning, itching or bubbling. The dye is thick, I used 3 boxes to cover my hair, but its 10 inches past my shoulders and thick. The dye reminded me of cake frosting, no drips, smooth and the twist top was much better than cutting off a tip. The smell during and after is mild. The Color is Amazing. Normally I am still having white non dyed hair, this covered and was Natural. It's also much more affordable. My hair feels nourished and moist, no dry brittle issues. My skin wasn't dyed, so no ring around my neck and face. No rash, because although I am going white, I am a ginger, and my skin usually is irritated. This didn't do that, my skin wasn't affected. So far, 5 stars all the way around. I will be buying this again.

I am a real copper fire redhead. Not a blue or purple red. My hair is Copper/Strawberry. I always used L'Oreal/Clairol, almost any box of red similar to mine, I'd try. But it always a blue/purple base. THIS HAS NO PURPLE OR BLUE undertones. It's straight up the color I had as a kid. Copper w flecks of gold. I can't tell you how happy I am with this product. It smells pretty good for dye. The conditioner smells great & did the job. But wasn't as decadent as I had hoped. I'd stick with it for the first rinse. I didn't wash it for 2 days after to let it rest and there was no 'wash out'. The color stayed. I'm now about 3 weeks from it. My roots are good & I'm just now starting to see a little brassy parts at my ends. But I'd usually get the fades at 2 weeks in. I HIGHLY recommend the color I used. Not aure about the other colors but the copper/gold mix is SPOT ON for REAL REDHEADS. 💚💚

Easy, quick, didn’t stain things, and noticeable color (can’t speak to durability yet). Started with dark blonde (color treated 2 weeks ago) and color successfully developed. But the front box color makes it look like you will get a more bluish purple. However the name of the color and back of the box accurately speak of a more “berry” or pinkish result. I wanted a redder pink so this was fine with me but if you don’t look closely at the color results on the back and consider whether you tend to go a bit brassy when coloring (as I do) you may be disappointed if expecting more of a lilac color. Lots of reviewers have mentioned this already my just throwing my own 2 cents in!! Overall would buy again though if I want a pink cast to my dark blonde hair. Would get 2 boxes tho bc one was just barely enough. If you have below shoulder length hair go for 2 boxes.

I actually used Velvet Brown but I purchased macadamia brown but I was able to find it at CVS, nevertheless I’ve used the ULTIME box colors in VINTAGE RED, MAHOGANY RED, and now in VELVET BROWN. These are some of the best colors I’ve ever used the reds last long and are vibrant even on medium brown hair which mine is with gray at the temples, covers very very well. I wanted to go back brunette so I bought macadamia but with the shipping being so long because of covid I bit the bullet and went to CVS and got velvet brown and I love velvet brown, when I used it over the vintage red obviously it’s a bit more reddish than usual but the color is beautiful and a perfect chocolate warm brown and I just really enjoy using these colors. I always check to see if it recommends for gray hair if it doesn’t I wouldn’t use it on my grays, this one did an awesome job and it’s a real brown not black but of course it all depends on your starting color and if it’s already colored etc. always start at roots and then at the end add to your ends it never fails to work for me.

It's very nice and Schwarzkopf has all the instructions it stays for longer than what it really says on the box if you take care of your hair good product

I am a medium strawberry blonde and haven't colored in over a year. I bought shade 8.4 and left it on 25 minutes. It looked fine the first few days and almost the same after the first wash (with Nexus Color Assure shampoo and the Schwarzkopf included conditioner tube). But it's been almost 2 weeks and I've washed 3 times total with the same products and it has faded considerably. I had bought a clip-in hair extension ponytail to match and it might have matched when I first colored but by the time the clip got here, my color had faded so much that it would have looked ridiculous so I had to return it. Other info: I haven't been outside since coloring so it shouldn't be faded by UV and I don't have grey hair to cover. My natural hair color is just a lighter, more muted version of this color so it should have looked good for much longer. My picture is from today but I don't have one from when I first colored.

Pros: lovely color (a nice, warm, natural-looking ginger), conditioner smells nice, easy to use, inexpensive. Con: the smell was a little strong, but no worse than your average box dye. So I have copper highlights and an ombré situation going on (my natural hair is quite dark brown). Red tones fade quickly and I wanted a boost in between salon visits, so I got this. I applied it all over my ends, but only kind of halfheartedly near the roots. Because years of trying to color my nearly-black hair red without bleach taught me not to get my hopes up. Well, it ended up lightening and turning my unbleached hair a nice auburn. This would be a fine and pleasant surprise except it’s in PATCHES! Looks dreadful. Oh well. I’ll 100% buy this again and do it right next time!
