Little Pilgrim's Big Journey, Part I: John Bunyan's Pilgrim's Progress Fully Illustrated & Adapted for Kids Review: Great story for sharing the gospel to your little ones - I was surprised by how much my two year old would love this book. It’s quite advanced for his age but he likes looking at the graphics and he seems pretty engaged. As a parent, I’m always trying to share the gospel at every opportunity, and this presents it in a fun and age appropriate way. I highly recommend! Review: Wonderful book great pictures - Amazing book. Wonderful pictures and quality of the book itself. Love that the audio book follows right along and had a chime to turn the page. My kids have read it again and again. Absolutely the best thing we got them for Christmas!!! Love them learning and then wanting to share it. My 3 yo was "reading" the book to Grandma after just hearing the story once. That is how beautiful and well done the pictures and story is.

This book is a blessing to our family
I bought this book to read to my 4 year old son. My plan was to read a chapter each night. To my shock and delight, he didn't want me to stop reading it. In fact, we have already read through it twice since getting this Christmas. I know this book will help lead us to many biblical conversations that I am looking forward to as my son grows older. This is a must book for littles!! We love it so much. It is and will continue to bless our family.

Engaging for young children and parents
When my 5 year old son and I started to read this I thought we would last about 15 minutes tops, but over an hour later we finished the book in one setting. He kept wanting to find out what happened next. The pictures were beautiful and very well done. One of my favorite parts is that the pictures were multicultural. There were ethnicities from all over the world represented ,which I really appreciated. I have not read Pilgrims Progress so I can't comment on accuracy to the original. As a children's version it was not overly simple and the language was extremely relatable. I loved that it is a faith centered book that boys can relate to. It had action and adventure and a wonderful message about the Christian life. I have already recommended it to friends and family and feel like you would not go wrong in purchasing for your family. You can tell a lot of love and attention to details went into the book.

A Book for All Little Pilgrims
Little Pilgrim's Big Journey is a rare find. It does an exemplary job of making John Bunyan's classic accessible for young children. I cannot tell you how many times I have attempted to read through Pilgrim's Progress with my kids but stalled. However at their desperate pleading, we finished this book in one sitting. Even my 3 year old listened the whole way through! At the same time, this book did not depart from Scripture. I often find many children's books need to be read with a discerning eye as liberties are taken that can subtly present an unbiblical view. I greatly appreciated that this book was clear for kids, without compromising the theological integrity of the content. It serves as a great launching point for parents to further engage with their children. Readers will discover that the illustrations are excellent, the chapter summaries understandable, and the discussion questions helpful. Even the epilogue was a must-read of focused exhortation and encouraging reminder to trust and follow the King unto eternity. All pilgrims, young & old, can benefit from reading this book. Highly recommended!

The book is worth it
This book is so beautiful. I bought it for my 8-year-old granddaughter, and she told me she really liked it. I'm going to buy all the books to make a small library for my granddaughter. It's so nice to know she's reading something that will nourish her spirit and leave her with lasting and valuable lessons for her future life.

Loved this. Faithful to the original text, beautiful illustrations that embrace diversity. My 2.5 year old asks for this to be read every night. Of course his favourite chapter is the battle with Apollyon!

I read one chapter a night to my 2 year old daughter and she loves it. She follows the story super well and asks good questions about the story. Would highly recommend.

Bit of a short story. I don't have a great history with Kickstarter. I've backed a couple things, some things were plausible, deliverable and of a sound concept, and fell through. I stopped backing things years ago. A friend of mine who makes board games occupationally left Canada to go to Cambodia. I'm also good friends with someone who works for MSC Canada. A few months ago, I started reading Pilgrim's Progress on my own. I've been meaning to find good, solid, chewy, deep material for my children. We've greatly enjoyed "The Ology" and "The Jesus Storybook", but as Matt Chandler said "I love reading stuff written by old dead guys". Unbeknownst to me, all of this was being weaved together in a way too marvelous for me to "get" I found the Kickstarter for this project and went "huh, the man writing it is from Toronto, and the snapshots look good but....Kickstarter." Then I clicked into the partners on the project and saw J.L. was on it and went 0_0. Then I found out the author is a missionary and knows said friend. The pictures are wonderfully front and centre, the text is adapted in a way that is (thus far) faithful to the spirit and I will enjoy reading the text and comparing it with Pilgrim's Progress. Already I notice little adaptations here and there to pull things from the text and "smooth" them over, without making them overly simple. The Allegory explanations at the end of each chapter are also great for kids (and adults! And adults to explain to kids!) I plan to read the words, have my kids visualize it actively, then shown them the pages and beautiful illustrations. S.D.G

Pilgrim’s Progress can be a difficult read but this adaptation designed for children provides an easy summary. My seven-year old son loved it. The explanations of each chapter were helpful and the pictures suited the purpose. As with the original, some of the cultural differences (such as a lack of female characters) seem dated, but the kids didn’t really pick up on this.
