I loved it so much I ordered a second 3-pack. The plants seem to be thriving and only need to refill every few weeks if no rain. I used my own compost/dynamic lifter/blood and bone mix with cheap soil and a peat moss cover. Eggplant, Zuccini and herbs all doing well. Bonus is that the 20l buckets can move inside next to glass wall during winter which I can't do with the bigger pots.

I found this product to be very helpful. Keeps the water under the soil so no bugs on top. Perfect for indoor growers. The directions for setup were easy to follow and the product itself was very easy to assemble. I bought 2 sets and plan on buying more after testing. So far testing for me is positive.

GREAT GROWING BUCKETS SAVES TIME.

This is a great design and it's easy enough to set up. However, I wouldn't recommend this for growing tomatoes, cucumbers or any other hearty plants as you'll find that you need to add water at least twice a day after the roots reach the reservoir. If adding water a few times a day is no issue, then have at it. The GroBucket store sells a "Grotech Grobucket Irrigation Kit" to "eliminate the need for manual watering". Unfortunately, the ad for the kit is very vague. For starters, It doesn't say if it works with the GroBucket system or not. It claims to come with clear instructions but I'm reluctant to spend $70 until the GroBucket store goes into a little more detail in their description and the images / video that they might choose to share.

I ordered these in early may after seeing them in a YouTube video, and I thought what the heck, probably will work better than a homemade unit... anyway - fast forward to June- just opened the box now and as I was assembling and just looking it over, I noticed that ALL OF THE SLOTS in the unit had some amount of "flashing" as a result of poor process parameters in the molding operation and/or general lack of someone actually looking at the part when it comes out of the press.. I say this because the flash issue wouldn't be an issue if one or both of those reasons were addressed appropriately.. That being said - WARNING TO PURCHASERS - please check for this issue before using as this will impact the performance. If you find this issue it is easy enough to correct in about 2 minutes.. just get a razor blade or sharp knife and gently trim away the flash (it will come off easily) until all the slots look the same. I gave it 3 stars because of the lack of discipline on the injection molding process, I guess I can revisit this after it's been in use for a while. (But I'll probably forget) Anyway, I was going to buy 3 more, but for now, ill see what else there is out there. And if I can't find anything - I guess I can always either hand water like I've always done or finally just put in a drip system, or come back here and bite the bullet and buy more.
