Gentle and Effective Support for Hairball Control
This Vet’s Best Cat Hairball Relief Digestive Aid has worked well for my cat. It’s easy to administer and seems gentle on digestion. Since using it regularly, I’ve noticed fewer hairball issues and less coughing or gagging overall. I like that it’s vet formulated and designed to support digestion while helping manage hairballs, rather than just masking the problem. My cat tolerates it well and has had no issues taking it. Overall, this is a helpful and reliable product for cats prone to hairballs. It’s easy to use, effective, and a good option for ongoing hairball support as part of regular care.

Lifesaver for my cats during shedding season — gentle and effective!
I bought this Vet’s Best Hairball Relief Digestive Aid a few months ago after one of my cats started coughing and hacking frequently due to hairballs. After doing some research, I wanted something natural, veterinarian formulated, and easy to administer without upsetting my cat’s sensitive stomach. I’m so glad I found this product! First of all, the tablets are a great size and are easy to crumble if your cat doesn’t like chewing them directly. One of my cats eats them like treats thanks to the chicken flavor, while the other is a bit picky, so I crush the tablet and mix it with a little wet food. Both methods have worked perfectly. I started noticing results within a week or so — less coughing, no more hacking noises, and overall they seem much more comfortable. What I really appreciate about this product is the ingredients. It’s made with Slippery Elm and Psyllium Seed which are known to be natural digestive aids, and I feel confident giving it to my cats regularly. I usually give them the tablets during heavy shedding seasons like spring and fall, and the difference it makes is obvious. The price is also very reasonable for how many tablets you get (180 per bottle). This bottle will last me months even with daily use for two cats. Plus, I’ve seen no side effects, and both of my cats have tolerated them very well. In short, if your cats suffer from hairballs or seasonal shedding issues, this is definitely worth trying. It’s effective, gentle, and affordable — exactly what I was hoping for. I plan to keep this on hand year-round from now on. Highly recommend!

An Honest Review
Get ready for a lengthy review but I promise it is worth it! So I am writing this review after using this product for a few months now, I wanted to wait for a certain period of time to pass to see if there were any results after using this product and I can assure you that there was! So for context: I own two beautiful cats that I have rescued that have two very different personalities, one sheds like there is NO tomorrow and the other one does not. Of course being they are both cats they love to clean themselves, quite literally all the time which resulted in hairballs. The one who does not shed near as much has a few health issues involving his stomach and nasal cavities, both of my cats have extremely sensitive stomachs so I wanted to find a product that could work for both of them equally without causing issues! The picture above is three different products I use including the one that I’m currently writing the review on. This product has done wonders for me and my fur babies! This product alongside the other ones I have bought reduced the amount of hairballs I was experiencing, keep in mind that I was experiencing around 2-3 hairballs every other day but definitely 1 hairball every day. As I’m sure many of you know, coming home after a long day and having to clean hairballs out of carpet is not an easy task to do. After a few months of using this as well as trying the other two products featured in the picture I have seen a significant improvement from both of my cats! So here is my routine and what works for me: in the morning I use a pill crusher to crush the pill and put it into each of their food bowls, I mix the pill fragments in with their food. Then in the evening time, I squeeze a few drops of the liquid product into their food bowls. Neither one of them have had issues with eating their food since I’ve started all of this, in fact I’ve noticed they seem more excited to eat! One of my cats LOVES treats while the other does not, so sometimes I will drop the treat product into the pickier one’s bowl so that he will eat it while I feed the other one the treat product at random since he will eat it on the spot. Of course I highly recommend consulting with your veterinarian if you have one for more information in regards to your pet’s health and or condition!

Great for my heavy shedding kitty
One of my cats is a shorthair, but she has very lush fur that sheds almost constantly. Which means she has hairballs almost constantly too. For a while, she'd throw up at least one a week. I decided it was finally time to find her some relief, and ordered these. I tried to give them to her as a treat, but she's very picky with treats so I wasn't surprised when she turned her nose up at them. I decided the easiest way to give them to her would be to crush them up and mix them into her food, and so far it's worked wonderfully. She definitely knows it's in her food, but it doesn't bother her enough to put her off of eating. I found the tablets to be fairly easy to break into smaller pieces, and also pretty easy to crush. Ever since I started giving these to her, I've noticed she doesn't throw up hairballs nearly as much. In the time since I bought them, she's had only two hairballs, and they were much smaller. As far as potty business goes, I haven't seen any negative effects either. So don't expect these to completely stop the hairballs if your cat is a heavy shedder like mine, but I can absolutely say they help a lot!

Truly works!
I am very happy with this product. I have a Siberian cat and she is a clean freak with her coat. She started getting constant hairballs and would end up swallowing them so it was a never ending ordeal. I tried a highly recommended product that you have to put on their paws which was a nightmare. She absolutely hated it and after 3+ weeks it didn’t seem to be helping anyways. I was to the point where I was about to take her to the vet to get a prescription. I decided to do some more research and came across this product and thankfully it actually works. I break up the pills into four sections and she likes them more than her treats. It did take about a week to notice they were helping and then another couple for the hairballs to be gone all together. I would suggest this product to anyone who is dealing with hairball problems.

Old formula was GREAT. New formula takes more than twice as many pills to do the job.
*** UPDATE April 2016 *** Downgraded from 5 stars to 1 - would be 0 if I could. This new formula doesn't do the same job as the old formula. I was using a 2-to-1 ratio, meaning 2 of the new tablets when I used to use 1, but that isn't enough. I'm trying 2.5-to-1 PLUS 1/2 tsp Hairball Relief oil from Pet Naturals. One poor kitty developed pretty severe constipation as I was switching him over to the new formula (probiotics and extra oil helped). I used to crush the pills and dissolve them in water. They loved the "drink" it made and drank an extra 2-3oz water with each meal. Critical for kitties with renal issues. They also did something similar to their urinary tract support formula. I bought out all the old formula of that I could find. Now I have to do that with this stuff. I have no idea how I'm going to get all the water in them they need now. It's very dry here in California and our kitties have renal issues. This stuff was a godsend that helped both their kidneys and their coats. This is terrible. *** UPDATE April 2015 *** First, the company must be reading the reviews. The pills are still the same size but are now soft enough to break them in half with your hand. Even better, though, having to use the herb crusher for these pills resulted in an amazing benefit for the kitties. We have 2 cats with UT and renal issues, plus it's just been so dry here in CA, so I add water to their canned food. They won't drink it unless I flavor the water. I was using tuna, but that wasn't ideal because of the salt. Mixing the powdered pills with the water results in a "drink" they LOVE!! Our vet has been very impressed, and no more of the dry hacking and dry, itchy, skin! This may have saved our oldest kitty. I couldn't be more thankful. *** Original review *** Bought the first bottle to try and our cats loved them. I bought 2 more and found out they changed the formula. They're much thicker and harder than they were before. Our cats couldn't eat them anymore! And these are very big cats - 15lb and 18lb kitties. They're too big for my pill splitter, so I had to get an herb grinder to first crush them before the cats could eat them. It takes a lot of time and strength. The old pills could be easily broken up with your fingers if needed. Bring back the original formula!

Too large for cats
These pills are huge! No way my cat would even eat them. I ended up cutting the in half, grounding 1/2 and mixing it with his wet food. I do it every other day and seems to have helped with the hairball situation.

10/10 will buy again. Caution: too delicious.
Source: I'm a vet student and daughter of a vet. I've lived with cats more than humans. TL;DR: EXCELLENT. 10/10 delicious desirability, 10/10 for achieving 95% hairball expulsion reduction. 10/10 already bought again. CAVEAT: cats are individuals and have different palates and preferences, these tablets have a flavour and thus cannot and will not be universally accepted. There are people who don't like chocolate. They are wrong, but they exist. Similarly, there are cats who won't find these delicious. Background: grown kitten (she's 3 now) was raised by me alone and I have to take at least a dozen pills twice per day. I don't have AIDS but that's beside the point. Kitten (now referred to as "Cat") sadly decided that this is an activity that I am actively excluding her from and thus she tries to take the pills all the time. Also, Cat has a history of puking all the time not for any digestive pathology but because she shovels food in her mouth like one of those scoop-claws at an excavation site and makes herself sick overeating over-zealously, and/or, she is a pristine specimen but that involves a fair bit of licking-hair-consuming maintenance. Problems: Cat vomits often from hairballs or gluttony. Cat also wants her own pills badly. Consult: DVM friend (she just graduated and is already Da Bomb I'm proud af of her) suggested getting Cat her own pill to take with me, perhaps a hairball one. Action: bought this product. Opened, served at next mass-pill-consumption event. Results: Cat loved these tablets and even though I was worried because they are like the size of 6 quarters stacked together. Chewable nature of tablet confirmed. Unexpected findings: Cat loves these tablets TOO MUCH. So much so that she has taken to now actively trying to steal my medication unless she is fed these tablets in a constant stream to distract her while I squeeze 25 pills down my gullet in seconds. Conclusion: perhaps -too- delicious, and I will be purchasing another option that is perhaps less pleasant... she wants to eat medicine with me after all. Now if only the Rx for my Old Man were so appealing I wouldn't end up crying on the floor after chasing him an hour and being late to work as a result.
