This created a lip that prevented the hitch from swiveling by catching the edge of the atv mounting tab. **Q: Is the mounting bolt removable?** A: Yes. It is a heavy duty bolt with nut and lock washer that comes with the unit. However, if you want to mount it onto something else that would be possible, there is a large hole at the end of the hitch for the provided bolt but you could put anything through that hole. There are two other bolts on the bottom, by the way - they secure the anti swivel plate on the bottom. After installing the hitch move the plate firmly against the mounting poiint and tighten those two smaller bolts and it prevents the hitch from swiveling on the mounting bolt when you you back up. This is a nice product that works very nicely. I have it mounted on the drawbar on the back of my small diesel tractor and use it to tow trailers and carts around my property.
