A perfect book to curl up with
How have I missed this series from Carrie Elks, it is right up my street as I absolutely adore small-town books. Just a Kiss is perfect for the long winter nights coming up and I defy anyone not to fall in love with Breck and Caitie and their story. This book had emotion, sexiness and some real heartfelt moments and I loved it. I seriously think I need to go back and read the rest of the series. A perfect book for Christmas and I could definitely see it as a Hallmark Movie.

Lovely holiday romance, even when you're not that into Christmas!
This book was actually the first one the author wrote in the series, but in order to get to this part of the story, she needed to write the first three books first. I can safely assume that none of us found this a hardship, as the entire series is heartwarmingly adorable.Just a Kiss focuses on Lucas’ sister Caitie and his best friend Breck. Caitie is a successful holiday consultant based in New York, where she shares an apartment with her best friend Harper. She visits Angel Sands to attend Lucas’ and Ember’s engagement party. Having experienced a traumatic event as a child, she is deathly afraid of the open water, so she tries to limit her visits, and when she does, she stays clear of the beach. While there, Lucas and Ember ask her to help Christmas wedding, and although she has a busy schedule, she is happy to help her brother this way.During this visit, she also reconnects with Breck. Caitie has been secretly crushing on him since she was a teenager, especially when he and his brother stayed with her family for a few days after his mother died. This tragedy caused Breck to avoid Christmas like the plague since then, and who can blame him? While my reasons for not liking the holiday are not even remotely similar, I can understand wanting to escape the frenzy. However, despite not being into Christmas (to put it mildly), I highly enjoyed this book.Caitie travels back and forth to keep up with her contracts, securing a lucrative new one, and planning the wedding. In the meantime, she is faced with her resurfaced crush on Breck. Little does she know, he is drawn to her as well. Due to several misunderstandings and miscommunications, they both think their feelings aren’t reciprocated and resign themselves to being friends. They actually get to know each other better this way, and when they finally realize the other’s feelings, it’s agonizingly sweet.Of course, things aren’t as easy as that, and they have to deal with both their fears while navigating their new relationship. Oh, and did I mention that they’re keeping it secret so as to not upset Lucas until after the wedding? Talk about added complications. (The wedding, by the way, is absolutely lovely!)Grab your copy now to get in the holiday spirit!

A Christmas story without snow but filled with friendship and love
I received an ARC of this book and this is my voluntarily, honest review of it.‘Just a kiss’ is the fourth book in the ‘Angel Sands’ series (Angel Sands is a small beach town in California). If you have read the previous books in this series, you will recognize quite a few names and people in this story. And you will be happy to know that this story has Lucas and Ember’s wedding in it!! But if you haven’t read any of the books in this series, don’t worry, you can perfectly read this story without having to read the other ones first.I have read all the books in the ‘Angel Sands’ series and I have enjoyed them all very much. So I was very looking forward to the next book in this series but ‘Just a kiss’ is extra special because it’s also has a Christmas theme in it and being a big fan of Christmas stories, I couldn’t wait to read it.This story may not have snow in it, but believe me when I tell you that it has ALL the feel of Christmas in it!! It’s definitely a Christmas story!I enjoyed this story very much. It’s told from both POV’s. I liked the main characters, Caitie and Breck very much. They were goodhearted, intelligent, patient and lovely people and I loved the chemistry between them. But just like every human, they weren’t perfect. Both had experience a dramatic event in their youth and both were still suffering from it, each in their own way. But if they want to build a relationship with each other, they have to face their fear and learn that running away from is, isn’t the best way to deal with it. But don’t worry! This isn’t a dark story. No! ‘Just a kiss’ is a sweet, light, easy-to-read story about friendship, family, hope, Christmas but especially about love.
