A super tawa, built like a tank for great heat retention and distribution. Only downside is if also using for pancakes/griddle cakes you'll not be flipping them- it's heavy. (Go with a carbon steel one if weight might be an issue for you.)Preferring a glass smooth surface I abraded the cooking surface smooth with coarse wet'n'dry paper and seasoned thrice with flax/linseed oil before using (just as I would with a Lodge skillet, for instance.) Seasoning on areas I didn't tamper with seems robust :)

I have searched many brands finally I found this roti tawa. It is heavy in weight, first day chapatis was sticking to tawa but after using regularly it is becoming soften and chapatis are getting more tasty on cast iron and it is very healthy instead of eating on nonstick pans. For cast iron we should do seasoning with any veg oil. The more we do seasoning more it works well and should be maintained without getting any rust to it.

But the heat resistant canvas grip is missing and it gets extremely hot to handle the tawa

I was bit susceptive about its performance. But it is working fine.Just a tip: It will take time for you to get use to it. Use it on high flame for a short duration until it gets enough hot and then switch to medium flame for use, it will save gas.Build quality is great and it is of standard size.Cleaning is easier than the non-stick tawa.Provides adequate non-stick tawa experience.

The coating has started to peel out after using the tawa for last 4-5 months only inspite of oiling it on a regular basis. Extremely disappointed with Vinood.
