Great for anxious pre-teen
I love this series and have bought so many for my 11 year old daughter. Sometimes kids just don’t want to hear it from mom and these books are amazing for when she needs a little different advice. The advice in this book is honest, real but very age appropriate.

Great book to help daughters as they grow and also help communication with your child
I have a hard time always saying the right things for my daughter as she grows up. All of these books in the series has helped us both so much! We read them together and she goes over it by herself. It has really helped us open up and talk to each other about situation and how to handle them. Our communication skills with each other have gotten better. It has helped her so much learn how to deal with certain decisions. I highly recommend these to every parent that wants an open communication with there daughter but not sure how to go about it!!!

Would buy it again
Love this book for my 8 year old with some worry struggles. The content is easy for her to understand and apply. She is really encouraged knowing she’s not the only girl who struggles with worry!

Light-hearted approach to challenging anxiety
Charming approach to helping girls that tend to be worry-warts. Be aware, content is most appropriate for girls 6-10. I purchased it for my 12-year old granddaughter and she felt it was too immature for her.

Definitely Recommended
Helped my 10 year old tremendously who struggles with worry and anxiety. After reading this book from front to back in one night she has turned a major corner. She is utilizing the skills and techniques described in the book to help her through daily struggles. The book explains things in a very developmentally appropriate manner. I would highly recommend this book for any preteen/tween whether they struggle with anxiety or not.

Wow! 👏🏻
This is a great book! It really helped my daughter understand. She has been worried lately. I recommend to any girl age 7-11. This book is aimed for younger girls.Note: this book has more worries like, "What if I don't make friends at camp," rather than like, "I'm worried there's going to be a tornado."

Another School Counselor Approved Smart Girls' Guide
As a middle school counselor, I LOVE these books. I keep multiple copies so that I'm able to loan them out and also have one to show passages from to my students in individual sessions. All of the Smart Girls' Guides are really approachable, even to my lowest level readers and "toughest" girls, but this one in particular is great.

Excellent conversation starter
These books are wonderful, both for the content and the conversations started by reading the books together. There is enough detail to get the point across but doesn't get boring by repeating it. Print is big and bright. Not a wall of text. Quizzes break up the format. We own pretty much the whole set of these books. We're very happy with them.

Great Strategies
Our 11 year old daughter has been diagnosed with anxiety and this book has been a great companion to therapy. She enjoys the personalized strategies and cute pictures. Being from American Girl helped her “accept” it as being more credible.

Helping my worrier to understand
These are a good set of books for girls growing up and needing some expert (but not bossy parent) advice. WE have 3 of these now, and whilst my 10YO and 8YO both say they've never read them for fear of admitting a problem, I've found them both secretly absorbed on several occasions. An important parenting thing for me. Sometimes not forcing the issue and providing the assistance is enough. My eldest is a worrier but wold never admit it. Nice to see a book that addresses the causes for this age group, and how to manage or accept things. The content is set out in a plain, well illustrated way that takes you through the problem, why it happens, how to manage it, and ways to cope. Some solid advice provided in a lovely, empathetic way.It wasn't till they arrived and I was perusing that I realised these books were published by American Girl. If you have girls, they are the holy grail of 18 inch dolls. We have the cheaper version in our house BUT importantly that link made sure that my daughters trusted the content that little bit more.
