This book was perfect for my daughter that was doing a book report and wanted a book to read with facts! Interesting information that we didn’t know before!

I homeschool two kids aged 8 and 10. I love Eye Witness books mainly because the kids enjoy picking them up and dipping into them. This book is just right for that. I would not recommend it for anyone wanting in depth information about Ancient China, but it is great for sparking the imagination and giving an overall picture.

It's basic learning but very colorful and endearing!

A very excellent teaching book. The Chinese were farming a full thousand years before the Egyptians. The pictures helped my student understand better.

Delivered ahead of time..book was exactly what we wanted

First, this book is surprisingly thin... It's just like going to a Chinese exhibition in a local museum in UK or USA... I wonder if all the illustrations in this book only come from American museums. Second, I am not an expert but I already saw hundreds of mistakes/wrong info in this book. - The names of people/emperors mentioned in the book are not always correct or not in the same "format", the book doesn't distinguish the "name" and the "title" of emperors. - Wrong name, e.g. Lin Zexu (Correct) - Li Zexu (Wrong, P63). There are more. - Typos, e.g., Kung fu - Kune fu. (P65); Longest reign : Kangxi ruled from 1661 to 1772. Correct 1661 - 1722. (P65) - Wrong illustrations, e.g., P69, "Try an ancient Chinese craft", in the figure, it is JAPANESE calligraphy but NOT CHINESE. (It is even NOT Chinese characters...). - P71, why you put a photo of Pagoda in Kyoto, Japan? It's a book about China, NO? I highly recommend you to invite some Chinese people into your Edition group for this book.

Very interesting, informative and well-illustrated book on ancient China though our Chinese readers will have to weigh in on the accuracy of the history presented. Bought this for the kids but I’m enjoying it myself :)
