This book by Mother Angelica helped me understand the Bible, forgive myself and taught me how to really turn to God for help. I was brought up that God is an angry God and we are being punished. That's not true after all these years. He loves us and wants us with Him for all eternity and even if we stumble and fall along the way, He is the one picking us up.Read this book. You will learn new things about the Bible in layman terms and not the fifty dollar words writers like to use.

Her books are timeless and everything she says is still relevant to this day, she has helped me with the catholic religion more than any book, you won't be sorry if you purchase this book, actually I have all her books

Love this book - Mother Angelica is one of two mentors in my life because of her wit, wisdom and kindness. I have visited her studio to watch her tape her shows many times and she always takes time before the shows to talk to the audience and absolutely adores the children who come - even the crying babies. I have a Muslim friend that has also gone with me and loves Mother Angelica as much as I do. When we used to see her in our favorite Chinese restaurant, she would always recognize us and say a few words of greeting. When the studio was brand new, I took my Cub Scout den to visit, as they said, "The nuns in their nun suits..." My little predominately Baptist buddies groaned at the site of the Pieta while she was hugging them and she just smiled and hugged them more. She's a true saint living in our time!

I love Mother Angelica's sense of humor. I used to visit some elderly women who watched EWTN and especially Mother Angelica all the time. Now, years later I stumbled across her book and am glad I bought it. She has a way of explaining scriptures in an amusing yet sensible manner. Her death on Easter Sunday 2016 was a sad day for all of us. I've given out several copies of this book as gifts. Everyone agrees Mother Angelica is delightful and engaging storyteller.

I'm slowly making my way through all of Mother Angelica's books, and this one is yet another winner. Its similar to Mother Angelica's Little Book of Life Lessons and Everyday Spirituality, however this one gives us more to focus on. It hits the big lessons with finer details.If you watch Mother Angelica's show or listen to it, the book is very much in her voice. The lessons are presented in the same way and there is so much to take from it. Even a laugh or two!I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in the Catholic faith, regardless of where they are on their faith journey.

Loved this warm and easy read. It provided verses from the Gospels and, Mother Angelica's discussions shined through.

Wonderful and often humorous commentary on scripture, in small digestible bits. Mother Angelica is down to earth and plain spoken, so if you want lofty intellectual commentary, this is not for you. Or maybe if you want lofty intellectual commentary, this is what you need to help come down to earth! Don't let her folksy manner fool you-- She is one sharp and well informed lady, who communicates the truths of scripture in a very accessible and witty way.

As always, Mother Angelica brings us down to earth - her expansions on the Scriptures really put you "at the scene" and make you stop and think about what happened, not just read it and move on.This book was my introduction to Mother's teachings and thoughts and on the basis of it, I've bought all of her works. For sheer inspiration, you can't beat her!

Everyone should read this story. For anyone of faith, it will only serve to deepen it and for those with no faith, you may see the possibilities of God in a new light. Full of grit, perseverance, faith like a rock and God's miracles. A pure joy to read. She was a a such a character, there will never be another like her. What she accomplished in her lifetime was nothing short of a miracle. God had his hand on her from beginning to end. A great read that will stay with you long after you turn the last page.

I never heard of mother Angelica before the of March 2013 Iwhat a saint and the wasy she is so compassionate for everybody, her life is incredible suffering and work, like almost every one we would like her to come back ok.
