Question about RCA cables

On the RCA cables theres a blue wire in the middle of them what is that used for? Its on both sides of the double ended RCA cables

I was extremely disappointed with this kit

I usually do not write comments but, I was extremely disappointed with this kit. The "4 Gage power wire" was not 4 gage. It has a thick outside covering. The inside wire is very small in diameter. I should have looked into other options before making this purchase. I have since bought another brand.
