Juanitas Hominy Mexican Style, 25 oz (packaging may vary)

Tastes great! Love this brand I do love buying local but in a bind out of town I was able to get some hominy. Excellent, no dents.

You can use this hominy to make Posole which is a chicken soup. How to make quickly. Add shedded chicken, canned tomatoes, a can of rinsed black beans, a can of hominy. Add a sautéed minced onion, chopped celery, and slices of carrots. Add 1 tsp cumin. 1 tsp of chili powder. Heat for 20 minutes or until carrots are done. Serve with cheese, crackers, and a bit of minced cilantro. Texas recipe!

I am allergic to sulfur and so many white foods add metabisulfite to preserve "whiteness"--gives me hives! I can eat my fill of Juanita's.

I really like Juanita's hominy because it's non-GMO; although the label doesn't state that it is. I called Junita's directly and spoke to them and they told me their hominy is non-GMO but they have not changed their label. So I've been trusting their word and continue to buy it for that reason. However, this 25 oz can is real small and I can't believe it's 25 oz. I thought I was getting their large can which I found out Walmart carries off the shelf. I paid way too much for this small can. I will not order it from Amazon again and just walk into the local Walmart.

I’m known for my pozole 😋 Everyone says it’s the best and this is the hominy I use. Since I was being lazy and ordered online instead of picking up at the store I was suprised to see a small little can😂😂😂 I laughed at myself. THIS IS THE SMALL CAN OKAY PEOPLE DONT BE LIKE ME.

This is just what I needed to make a good winter soup with a different flavor. In the US it was a goto meal option in cold weather. The soup is called Posole and must have the hominy to make it. Perfect!

The hominy is an integral part of my chicken posole soup. Couldn’t imagine the soup without it.

I just learned how to cook my grandmother's recipe for menudo. Finding Mexican ingredients in Japan has been tough for me, so I've been Amazon-ing everything lately. Glad to have found a brand of hominy I'm familiar with and have cooked with while I lived in the United States.
