Review: Quiet, brilliant design, energy smart, too! - First, a general rave about this brand: For all of my adult life, I've had air purifiers of all kinds due to seriously bad allergies. The BlueAir Blue series are the ONLY ones that I've had that are easy to clean. I had a smaller BlueAir Blue 411 for years in a small bedroom that was great! With other brands, the expensive pre-filters either had to be thrown away when they got dirty, or I had to resort to using a toothbrush to clean the plastic framework that they were a part of. I admit that because of these annoying issues, I replaced or cleaned them less often than I was supposed to. With the Blue series, you just slide off the fabric pre-filter (it's a lot like sliding off a sock), and then throw it in the washing machine. A clean pre-filter captures the larger stuff like animal hair and dust, extending the lifespan of the main filter. A clean one therefore saves you money in the long run because you won't have to replace the main filter as often. More than anything, an air purifier that has a dirty filter probably doesn't do anybody much good, regardless of the specifications on the box. Secondly, I bought this particular model because of its capacity, air quality indicator, and because it uses much less energy than other air purifiers (only 4-38 watts). I keep it running 24/7 in a large bedroom, so energy use and noise are important. When it's in Auto mode, it comes on only when its sensors detect particles in the air, and triggering the air quality indicator LED to subtly let you know. When it's in Night mode, all of the lights on the unit turn off, it's whisper quiet, and the fan is on Low. It also has an Everyday mode (It's equivalent to a Medium setting), and a Boost mode (a High setting). It does an impressive job of cleaning the air, as well. My sinuses really appreciate it!!!
Review: The Best Air Purifier In My Experience - Literally this is my 10th Blueair 211+. Yes, they all still work! Gave one to our son (dog dander) and gave 3 to our daughter (2-Story house and I stay over often). I turn one on in our master bathroom and shut the bedroom door. I go back 30 minutes later and the bedroom/bathroom are fresh!!!! It’s about 500sq ft total. We use 2 on 3rd floor, 2 on main floor, and 3 in walkout. The air is splendid!!!! I have MCS (Multiple Chemical Sensitivity) and severe mold allergies and these babies really help A LOT. We put the Blueair 311 Auto in our dog area since she can run in and out at her will. It does such a great job that we change the filter monthly! I love that dirty filter because it means it’s working!!! Yes, that makes 4 Blueairs in the walkout lolol. I have another 311 Auto that we put in the master shower (gigantic) due to a smell. That fixed it up real quick until plumber came 6 weeks later. Seems the P-Trap dried out while waiting for regrouting causing funky stench. It’s all better now-fixed. I’m considering setting the 311 Auto in the air return vent just as a test lololol. Yes, they are that amazing!!!!

**Q: Went to check the manual for a question and just realized out Blue air did not come with a pre-filter. Wasn't it supposed to?**
A: Hi there, your Blue Pure 211+ Auto comes with one pre-filter in Arctic Trail, which may have come pre-installed on the unit (the grey external fabric).  If this is not the case, please e-mail info@blueair.com and we will be happy to send a replacement.

**Q: From which PM2.5 reading does the air purifier start increasing fan speed?**
A: I have not seen it automatically increase fan speed.  I set it on the 1,2 or 3 setting and forget it.   Maybe it can alter fan speed but if so it's not noticeable to me.

**Q: Where can additional Of the new style Pre-Filters be purchased?**
A: The Blueair website has the pre-filters if you can’t find them here.

**Q: I live in the country, lots of dirt + 3 dogs and 2 cats, how often will I need new filter?**
A: Hi there, our formal recommendation is to change the filter every 6 months of continuous use, but you may check your filter periodically and replace it on an "as needed" basis if you prefer.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very quiet and nice looking air filter

Our family suffers allergies and I needed something to provide that extra filtration during the fall and spring season when polon counts are ridiculously high. Its only been about 2 months since our purchase it appears to be helping. I've only had to take a allergy medication a few times in the past two months, maybe due to weather, or maybe because this filter has helped. Either way, I know that it definitely does help with filtering out the smells in our big house after we cook. It cranks up automatically and removes most of the kitchen cooking smells (bacon, stir fries, etc.) in around 15-20minutes. And we have a very large house. So, I would recommend this air filter for our purposes. I have not had to replace the filters yet and do not know the prices, but hopefully it will not be too expensive to maintain long term. But if it does help with my allergies, I think its worth it.
