More Lovely Knitted Lace: Contemporary Patterns in Geometric Shapes

Some unique beautiful patterns
This is a review of the book and not the finished pieces from the book. This book was purchased because i was intrigued by the idea of using different shapes to make lace knitting. I like working from charts and I use written patterns. Written patterns help to start but charts are the way to go for building a piece once you get going. Also the idea of lace in worsted is nothing new. Al- a Maggie Rigatti. The clothes in this book are just normal stuff you can find from so many yarn houses all over revelry and just picking up larger needles. The shapes idea is a good one I think if you work your own square, triangle and circle you might not find it overly inspirational. As a gift for a young knitting enthusiast some of the patterns will deliver.

STUNNING PHOTOS. Beautiful projects. This will never make it to your shelf, you'll be looking through it so often!
I LOVE BROOKE NICO! Her designs are stunning. I never leave a pattern un messed with. I always have to change the yarn or the tension. My hands are delicate after a surgery to replace a bone in my left thumb, so I generally double yarns and use huge needles. Her charts are easy to read and adaptable. The photography in the books is inspiring. Brooke! You ROCK!

A bit disappointed. Brooke Nico is one of my all-time favorite designers, but the patterns in this book were pretty ordinary. I figured it would be an extension of the first volume, but it almost seems like this one is more basic.

Beautiful and inventive lace patterns - don't miss this book!
Wow. Seldom do I buy a knitting book and find that I'd love to knit ALL the patterns in it. Every single one. These pieces are gorgeous. I'm not saying I think I could wear every one of them; some may be better suited to my daughter, but I want to knit them. And I'm a bit of a hard sell: I've only ever seen one or two entrelac patterns I was remotely interested in knitting, but the Amaryllis Entrelac Shawl is stunning (though not in my colors). And who doesn't welcome an excuse to buy Kauni Effektgarn? Darn you, Brooke, you've exploded my Ravelry queue. Again.

A fresh take on lace projects!
While I enjoy knitting lace, I find I'm not overly interested in the appearance of most finished lace projects when it comes to actually wearing them. Brooke answers this dilemma brilliantly with her geometric lace designs. I'm captivated by the Arbor Triangular Shawl, the Montauk Sweater, and the Wanderlust Shawl, but I have to admit, it's hard to pick a pattern in this book that doesn't appeal. The patterns are well written, and offered in both text form and charts, and some pattern notes even offer ideas for adaptations (see primrose tunic, arbor triangular shawl, and the aria gauntlets, just to name a few).I love the mix of femininity with the texture or construction, while the geometry adds a more modern feel to the lace. The Duo Cowl is a great example of this, with the yarn recommendation including mohair adds a softer look, to a very basic and mesh-like lace pattern.

I also bought her first book and love them both
I was lucky enough to take a course with Brooke Nico at Vogue Knitting Live in Pasadena so when I saw that she was bringing out another lace book, I had to get it. I also bought her first book and love them both. They do not disappoint. I especially love that she explains things for people who knit like I do - continental and continental combined. That is rare! Great patterns and wonderful explanations/tutorials. Wonderful clear pictures - can't recommend highly enough.

Lovely, but mistakes in the patterns.
Nice patterns, great book, but the Montauk sweater pattern has several errors in both the printed directions and charted directions. Tore it out twice before I realized it was the pattern and not me that made the errors. Have not tried the other patterns yet, but will be watching for errors.

Lace mal anders
hier gibt es Modelle, die nicht ausschließlich aus superfeinem Garn gestrickt werden und daher auch mal schneller gehen. Nicht alle Modelle gefallen mir, aber das ein oder andere werde ich nachstricken
