Blackmagic Design Micro Converter SDI to HDMI 3G

We have been using black magic products for years and have never had any issues with any. They seem to last and every device we have ever purchased is still in use 10 years later due to expansion you always need more so it is the only product buy for SDI.

I regularly use this product for video distribution in educational settings.. It can be purchased with or without a usb C power supply.I'm a bit irritated that Amazon doesn't make it clear which type they sell. I got the product in hand but without a power supply. I couldn't use it till I got a power supply.

I had assembled and tested a good quality (PTZOptics, Blackmagic Designs) camera system. For the production system (Church Sanctuary), I needed to remote the camera by 50', which is a bit much to trust HDMI. I purchased a high quality SDI cable and an off-brand SDI to HDMI converter. After installation, there was banding in the image and highly distorted colors. No adjustment, replug, or reset could cure it. I returned the converter and purchased this Blackmagic converter. I plugged it in and everything worked perfectly with a clear and undistorted image. Lesson learned.Note that, per the other reviews, the box contains ONLY this converter and no power supply. You will need to add a USB-C ended cable on the converter end and a power supply. You may have these laying around, but if not, add them to your shopping list and the overall cost. A USB-A to USB-C cable and an inexpensive 15W power supply is working fine for me.

Works! We use 8 or more of these, to route SDI to typical consumer grade TVs from our BlackMagic Video Hub (40Gx40G).

Monoprice didn't make the STI converter I needed anymore so I gave this a try and it works perfect. This is way better quality anyways as black magic always is.

These are our standard SDI to HDMI converters used within our production environments and for field use. The new USB-C powered versions have been very reliable so far. We have not had any connection issues or bad units with over 100 in use regularly. We will keep coming back to use these as they are decently priced and very functional for their purpose.

It is very small (huge plus for me) and seems to do it's job. Uses usb-c power. The only thing I wish it had was it's own on/off switch but that's not a big deal. Hope it doesn't wear itself out from just sitting there running for no reason when I forget to unplug it from the powe source.
