Hanayama Padlock

I’ll start by saying it’s not easy, but that’s good. I was fidgeting with it for about 10 minutes and then it just came apart. How it did that, I had no idea. Took me another few days to figure out how to reassemble it. Still don’t have it down to memory but it’s definitely fun and a great fidget.

This is an extremely well made, beautifully done puzzle. Congratulations. Perfectly done from top to bottom. You won't be disappointed. Design, price, material, packaging. All first class. Makes a great keepsake. I was so impressed, I bought several and gave them as gifts. So many are so cute and challenging I had to buy them for myself too. I have a collection now and will repeat this review for all of them. They are just fabulous for busy hands and curious minds. Put them on your desk and coffee table. People can't help but pick them up. They look like they'll last for ever. Again, you will not be disappointed with this product. My bet, you will end up buying more than one ! ! ! !

Great quality and they definitely keep you busy! Of course it depends on the difficulty level but I’ve purchased mostly 4’s and 5’s and they definitely have stumped my hubby for way longer than any other puzzles like this. Some he has yet to solve! I keep them on my coffee table and guests always pick them up to try. They feel substantial and are made to keep people thinking. The puzzle simply isn’t getting it apart - you always need to reassemble which is often more difficult. I’ve used as stocking stuffers at Christmas and also as a small gift to accompany a gift card or cash. I’ve probably purchased over a dozen. It’s helpful to check reviews on the specific puzzles because it seems like not all puzzles rated in a specific difficulty category are of equal difficulty. For example, sometimes a 4 might be more difficult than a certain 5. I guess it depends on the individual but I did find the reviews helpful in that regard. If you have a puzzle expert in the house these will not disappoint. And I suspect the lower levels are probably great for beginners or just to get your feet wet.

I was able to do this in about 2 hours of total time, messed with it for about 20-30 mins at a time for a few sessions and finally it came apart. was able to put it back together because i paid very close attention to the position of the parts once apart and so then put it back together with ease and took it apart again in a couple of minutes just to be sure it wasnt a fluke :) Enjoy

I found out about these puzzles a couple of years ago and have been collecting them since them. They are totally giftable, perfect for Christmas as everybody can play with their puzzle and share. They are very nice objects to have around the house. Sometimes the difficulty does not match the level (I have had serious trouble solving some Level 3s and maybe solved a Level 6 faster). But anyways, each puzzle poses a different challenge, even the easy ones are enjoyable. I always bought these for adults but my kids (7 and 13) love playing with them also.

I love just about every Hanayama puzzle I own. This one is fun to play around with and eventually solve.

Wow what a good puzzle! Excellent quality. Genuine challenge. This is not one of those done in 15 minutes and sit on the shelf forever puzzles. It took me a solid 6-8 hours to do this one the first time, and it still provides entertainment after knowing how to do it. I let it sit for a month and went back to it, and it took me a full tv show to do it front and back. (unlike some other Hanayama puzzles, Im not able to do it in seconds after solving it) The mechanism is more mysterious than meets the eye. It has secrets that are not readily apparent. If you’re new to these puzzles, this is a great place to start. I know UFO looks the coolest, but this one is more fun.

Being a locksmith, this appealed to me right away. It's well made. I didn't spend too much time trying to figure it out tho. Looked it up online. A perfect compliment to my collection of other time wasters!
