Cut down my chopping time by hours!
Here’s pics of results of the new chopper. WOW do I love this thing. The pan with ¼ inch cubes of eggplant would have normally taken me well over an hour to cut those 2 eggplants into those tiny pieces, and it would never have been such even dices, but the chopper did it in about 4 minutes. It also made a HUGE difference in how evenly all the pieces cooked. All I did to prepare the eggplant (besides washing and topping) was to cut it in half lengthwise, then in 1/4 slices (or thereabouts-not to picky)The other pic is the onions, and celery in the same ¼ inch dice, along with the carrots and zucchini which were cut with the same ¼ dicer blade, but by using 2 inch pieces of the veggies vertically- made the carrots and zucchini as 2 inch juliennes. So what normally takes me 2 and ½ hours to prepare this dish, because of this great chopper, it took less than 10 minutes total. The only extra time it took was to wash and prepare the veggies, and even that was only maybe 10 minutes total. They eventually all went together with herbs and spices & olive oil-served over spaghetti – yummy…The chopper is the newer version of this chopper. The differences between the old and new as far as I can note:The plastic box that holds the chopped veggies is more than 50 percent bigger than the older model, meaning it holds a lot before you have to empty it;The plastic box it appears is held in better, and seems like it would be less likely to break at the attachment points at the front and rear. I found I had no difficulty giving a little pressure on the front end to disengage the box and then pull forward a tiny bit to disengage the back end, then repeat to put back on.I found it all very easy to clean, mostly rinsing parts off, and letting air dry well (make sure ANY food is not stuck to the stainless steel etc), before putting away. The blades are easy to take off, once you figure out the little latch that lets it loose or allows it back in. Like all of these- lots of CAUTION when removing and even when rinsing the blades and reinserting it, is crucial.I had a small amount of celery stuck inside a few holes of the blade and along the side, but a quick poke with a skinny wooden skewer removed them safely and fast.I really love this machine. It's really compact, easy to use, does a fantastic job of dicing/julienning, cleans up great and feel like it will last a very long time.I should mention, this newer model is so new, that although the mfgr in Sweden does sell it directly or here on Amazon, the all important spare parts they sell (plastic box, rubber feet, blades etc.) that are listed on their website are only for the older model. I don't know if that means they DON'T have them for sale yet for this newer model, or they just haven't listed them on their website yet under spare parts. This chopper is headed for a massive amount of chopping in the near future as dehydrating time is here. I look forward to it this year-because of this chopper.

The best chopper of this type I’ve found and easy to clean.
The plastic grid shield that comes with this chopper makes cleaning it a breeze! Put the shield in place, chop your food, then pull the shield off, removing veggie residue from between the pieces in the process. It’s genius! The only drawback to this stainless steel chopper is the plastic collecting bin on top. The top location allows a stronger downward thrust when cutting, but also can cause the plastic bin to fall off during the chopping process! The bin is held in place by slipping two projecting “ears” into slots beside the cutting grid. But they are a loose fit. As a result the bin came off when I was first using the chopper, spilling chopped onion all across my kitchen cabinet and floor! But I quickly learned to keep one hand atop the bin while the other pushed the chopper down. Learn from my mistake, and you will be pleased with this device!

Read the instructions and watch videos made by the manufacturer.
This chopper is amazing! I was a little scared by the reviews that said it was hard to push down to cut or hard to clean, but after watching the manufacturer's videos and following the instructions, I had zero issues. Those who are pushing down hard are doing it wrong- it's meant to be struck with an open palm or the side of your fist on the "snout". Those who complained about difficulty cleaning must not be using the cleaning mesh that fits down over the fingers of the plastic side. The mesh cleans out all of those crevices when you're done chopping.

Expensive, Stainless Steel, Already Broken after 5 months. No Return
The blades are bent and it chops after some effort, but the vegetable doesn't complete come out of the blades. You get cut trying to pull out the veggie. I contacted Amazon and their robot said they will not return. What a huge waste of money. $129 for a defective piece. Don't be misled by Stainless Steel.

Great chopper if you have the strength
This is a simple chopper. Can't get any simpler. Works great in cutting onions and other somewhat soft veggies. Carrots, no. tomatoes, no. The vegetable you'r cutting needs to be somewhat soft. Zucchini, yes, Squash, yes. AND you need some upper body muscles and a bit of coordination too. For the alligator to work properly you need to hold on the left and pull the chopper lever on the right with the other hand. I only say this because my significant other does not have the muscle strength or coordination needed, she is working on it. It does work. Now for finer points. And why I'll gave the alligator 2 stars for sturdiness; the plastic collector broke on the first use. Useless flange on both sides, very poor design. Cracked. You can use the chopper without this useless piece of plastic attached. Second, attachments: I have no idea why they included the smallest cutter. Why do you need to cut vegetables that small? third: very sharp. So be careful in cleaning blades. I like the alligator, but I only use the middle cutter and I don't use the plastic collector. Big question: does the alligator cut better than cutting by hand and is it worth the price? It is quicker. By how much? A good 75% faster. That is, if you have everything lined up and ready to chop. The cuts are more uniform too. More surface area for faster cooking. It is a little pricey but I say yes to buying the alligator. Know what you are buying, it does have limitations and issues with quality.

Super well-built, and for some worth the money
I had had my eyes on the thing for months and when I finally decided to buy it, I have not graded it once it is well-built well designed and I have a feeling it’s gonna last way longer than those $20 plastic ones

Great root veg chopper, easy on arthritic hands
I enjoy cooking and that at times requires a long time in prepping and chopping. That can be really stressful on my arthritic fingers so I was very happy to have discovered this device. The instructions that accompany the Alligator have super awful pictures and wording that are hard to decipher so I went to a few YouTube channels to see what to do. That was very helpful.FYI you can't chop bell peppers using the medium holed blades. Makes a messy mush. But the largest holed blades work just dandy. Haven't figured out how to cut celery though.
