Great book with pictures and instructions for beginners
Bought the book because I’m learning how to DJ plus it walks you through step by step of how to hook up everything plus a walkthrough of how to beat match plus how to make your own remixes. It also has a link with videos that you can follow along with.

A great book for up and coming DJ's
This a great book to be used as a tool for beginners, as well as intermediate DJ's. I would highly recommend this book to all DJ's.

Book is misleading and doesn't have any good info in it. Videos are also not helpful.
The book really doesn't teach you anything so don't waste your time and money. The videos are very juvenile and it takes 5 videos for him to explain the basics. It also says it covers topics like CDJ's but as shown in the pic above, it has 1 page that tells you nothing but about the jog wheel, and isn't helpful at all. It's also very short and not worth the $13-14 price tag. Do not recommend at all. Other reviews are misleading.

If you're starting from near zero like I was, this is a great start.
Although I have a moderate amount of experience in music making and production, I had near zero knowledge of the whole domain of DJing. It dawned on me one day while sitting in my home studio that if I'm going to give my growing son a full-spectrum introduction to the whole of music, this was one area that I needed to get up to speed on. There are plenty of videos on the Internet, but I generally like starting with a coherent tome authored and edited by experts to get me started on a new subject area. And who better, I suppose, than Hal Leonard? Although I searched for some time, this book was the only one that was both current and also very educational for newcomers to DJing. I've also been happy with the fact that it was very reasonably priced - I certainly feel as if I've gotten my money's worth in terms of dollars spent on education. After 1 month I'm happy to report that my son and I are up and running with Serato Pro on an entry level DJ controller - and having a blast!
