Vismed Gel

This Vismed Gel makes my eyes a little blurry at first, but then my vision clears and it works for hours.And I like that the container releases small drops - not big globs like most eyedrops.Unfortunately, there are only 20 pieces in the box. Thats only 20 uses because these things cant be re-capped.If you want to save some for later, you have to lean the little vial against something clean.I like the product, but the price is crazy. Its completely unaffordable. There is no good reason for the price to be this high.edit - You CAN re-cap them ! If you shove the bottom into the top it stays together decently. The tip stays reasonably clean and it doesnt leak if it tips.

I have severe dry eye (produce no tears whatsoever) and was desperate for something that worked as good as and longer than Celluvisc, the only other eyedrop I've been able to use. Am now a Vismed Gel Convert:1) I ran out of Vismed before my next order came in and had to go back to using Celluvisc for about ten days. I had not realized until then how much better Vismed worked for me; I was suffering by day back on Celluvisc.2) Unlike another review indicates, the vials CAN be recapped, as the instructions for use that come with clearly indicate. It also recaps more securely than most vials of eyedrops.3) most individual eyedrop vials say to NOT recap, but discard immediately after first use. Vismed gel says to use within 12 hours of opening.4) Celluvisc eyedrops last me about one hour and then I have to reapply. I DO recap the vial, against instruction, and thus get about three hours use out of one vial (six drops per vial avg). Vismed eyedrops last me two hours (one drop each eye) and I can thus get about eight hours use (eight drops per vial avg) out of one vial.5) The cost per day is cheaper for me for Vismed. When figuring how many drops per vial and how often I have to reapply, Celluvisc comes out to between $2.33 (if I re-use the vial, which it says not to) and $7.00 per day. Vismed comes out to $1.93 per day AND is more convenient to use.6) The only downside is I never know how long it's going to take the order to reach me, since it's coming from overseas. I've had it take from a few days to a few weeks to get here.

I have had dry eye for about five years now. With sinus problems, the meds taken there also dried my eyes out to the point of now I have chronic dry eye. I have tried everything out there (lots of money down the drain) and this is the one product that I continue to keep on hand. I have been using it for about 2 years, and when I open my last box, I reorder 3 more. Although, my last order has lasted me for longer than I can remember, which tells me that my eyes have greatly improved and I don't need the drops as often. There are some days when I don't need any and then of course there are days that I need these. Since I don't always need them, I don't always have these readily handy, so I will grab my systane drops, but they just don't cut it. I eventually have to get one of these viles of vismed gel. I have recommended this product to anyone who suffers from dry eye. It definitely gives the relief needed. Don't hesitate, it will change your life...you don't need to suffer anymore from the irritation of dry eyes.

My first review for Amazon. VIsmed gel is the first artificial tear that has helped my eyes. First found on eBay. I have had dry eye/ocular rocasea/ocular eczema depending on the doctor of the day! I've finally given up on the medical profession. in addition to VIsmed, through trial and error I've also found something else that helps a great deal. Optimmune. Optimmune is 0.2% cyclosporine ointment (veterinary med used for dogs.) Restsis is 0.05%. I use at night and I have had a huge improvement. My eyes are no longer bright red, there are days that I realize I haven't thought about my eyes once or pored in artificial tears. Takes a bit of work, but you can find this med on line. It's made a big difference in my life.

I have suffered from dry eyes for 10+ years, and have tried most everything on the market - restasis, all variety of OTC drops, lacrisert, mineral oil and other gels, even serum tears made from my own plasma. Of all the OTC drops I've tried, these are my favorite for daytime use. They keep my eyes moist in the dry colorado air, and they do not cause the clouding of other thick drops. I sometimes experience smeary vision upon inserting the drops, but it clears up in a few blinks. I will definitely purchase these again!

This stuff is great! It is the only thing that helps my dry eye. I wish the FDA would get its act together and approve hyaluronic acid for use in the US for dry eye so we didn't have to buy it from Europe!

I've tried many eye drops and this gel works. It even works better than the Vismed eye drops. Has no preservatives. Main ingredient is a substance that is naturally present inside the eye. I use it together with Refresh PM (before it got scarce). Helped cure my dry eye and corneal filaments. Other eye drops makes my dry eye worse.

Not the best eyedrop I have used. Seemed to make my eyes feel dryer when it was used several times throughout the day. However used once or twice during the day it provided a reasonable level of comfort
