Mademax Upgraded Solar Fountain with 4 Easy Install Nozzle and Fixer, Solar Powered Fountain Pump for Bird Bath, Garden, Pond, Pool, Fish Tank, Outdoor

Easy to install, no fuss! I experimented with several nozzles that were included until I found my favorite. This solar fountain is much better than I expected. I ended up removing the plastic spacers, which were unnecessary for my situation. The fountain burst peaks at about 10” in full sun. We love it. Great price too.

We wanted a small bubbler fountain to keep near a hummingbird feeder on our deck, but we lacked an electrical outlet nearby. I had my doubts as to whether the solar fountain actually would work, but it works really well whenever there's sun. It kind of spurts in stutters, or slows to a very low burble, when the sun is obscured by clouds or trees, and as the sun approaches the horizon, but no matter; the water flow has been enough to make itself known to the birds and squirrels in our yard. The squirrels use the fountain regularly, and it has been fun to watch them trying to figure out and trust the fountain, as it "dims" whenever a squirrel bends its head over the fountain to take a sip. They've figured it out and trust it now. For us humans, the sight and sound of flowing water is a pleasant, cooling addition to the "deck experience." We put our solar fountain in a 12" Hanizi Deck-Mounted bowl (also from Amazon), which is the PERFECT size and configuration for Mademax fountain. The solar fountain works as a plain burbler if no flow attachments are used. However, 4 easily-changed attachments are included to change the flow/fountain pattern. We are backyard bird-watchers, and have been for 5 or 6 years now. We'd always heard that a fresh, flowing water source was the most effective way to attract birds to one's yard -- even more so than bird feeders. We've always kept a clean bird bath available, but it holds still water, as a fountain in the bird bath would get continuously clogged by bird droppings, leaves, and feathers. Perhaps it was merely coincidence, but since we added the solar fountain on the deck (which is visible from the sky and the trees in the area), we've greatly increased the number of birds coming to our feeders. Doves are the only birds that actually drink from the fountain (probably because the proximity of humans keeps other species away), but the flowing water is like billboard to passing birds that our yard is a promising dining spot. I replace the water in the fountain every morning, and it needs to be refilled midday (we live in the very hot SE U.S.), but the deck and fountain are right outside our kitchen, so that's no problem for us. We were snickering at ourselves for even considering a solar fountain, but have commented to one another quite a few times how glad we are that we got the Mademax fountain and Hanizi bowl.

This fountain works great in direct sunlight but DOES NOT store power, even on a shady day - this will not work. It comes with lots of nozzless that offers different sprays. I use this fountain in a birdbath and it floats around in the water. I had to put make-shift weights on the arms of it (that are supposed to keep it centered in the birdbath). The moving around causes the water to evaporate, especially since it has to stay in the direct sunlight. I wish it stored power but other than this, it works well.

We’ve been very pleased with this solar powered water fountain. In addition to being to being a simple and reliable water fountain, it’s cord and battery free, and economically-priced.

It works but have replaced it every 8 months or so not long working.

07/11/2021 3months after I purchased it… today i tried to clean the unit and the birdbath. After cleaning was done, I added water and placed the fountain on the bath, just as what I had done in the past few months. What… no water from the fountain, even with full sun! I shook the unit. Put it back on the bath. Still not water fountain. Very disappointed. It will be put into recycle bin. Disappointed. DON’T BUY. NOT RECOMMENDED. Junk… 😠 05/06/2021 1 month after I deployed it, today, as a routine, I took the fountain aside and I used bare hands to wash the birdbath. Then I noticed the solar surface looked unusual… there were dark and shiny areas on the Matt grey surface. I took a closer look… the Matt grey color was actually a coating on the surface of the solar cells. Some of this coating had become loose. I moved my bare hand over the spot… wow… the grey coating came off. See for yourself… This was totally unexpected. Thus far, this issue does not seem to stop the fountain from working under the sun. I’m keeping my fingers crossed. I hope the manufacturer can respond to this issue. Until I am satisfied with the remendy, I am changing the ratings to 3 stars. NOT RECOMMENDED ————————————————————————————————————————————————— I looked at a number of similar products on the Amazon site. Majority of them fail in a fairly short time. I was a bit put off by this. But in the back of my mind, I wonder why so many fail. Then a few days ago... an idea came... water left under the sun will start to grow all kinds of things... slime and dirt and what not. People left it under the sun , not doing regular maintenance - like changing water with fresh ones frequently, washing off any dirt and grime. So I deduced that in time, the pump mechanism sucks up enough dirts and grime, will clog up and stop working. As if Amazon knew what I was thinking, the next day, I received an email from Amazon suggesting this particular make. After looking into it in greater details, I realized that this is a better product, designed to perform better - that it has a foam piece material in the suction to minimize dirts from being sucked up and create blockage. I have been using it for a couple of days. I wash the bird bath every morning, clearing all residues from the dish, and refill with fresh water. So far so good. However, I am bothered by the fact the the bird bath quickly loses water... I already chose a low spray but the wind blows the sprays to the side and loses water. So in half a day, the spray diminishes to a tiny flow. Today, following other reviewers, I removed the spray nozzle. Just let water flow freely from the open top. This far, it has retained enough water to keep the water flowing in decent quantity. I don’t know how long it will last. My 1st experience about such product. Hence the 4 stars for now. Come winter time, when I remove it for the cold weather... if it still works, I shall change it to 5 stars.

It’s a little smaller than expected. But very entertaining to watch. Worth the money. We bought 3 of them. 2 for others.

This solar fountain stopped working after 1 month of use !

He comprado varias fuentes solares pero esta es la de mejor calidad. Tiene la opción de regular la intensidad del agua lo cual es muy práctico y eficiente.

Works really well as long as there is lots of Sun light.
