Q: My friends, this is a solid slab, right? In other words, it does not bend or curve to follow the contours of a bathtub if placed *inside* the bathtub?

It is not a solid slab of wood, it is slats. But it is rigid and does not bend, twist or contour. It is flat, and needs to be placed on a flat surface. I use mine in the bottom of my shower and love it. Beautiful quality!

Q: Would it be difficult to disassemble it completely, so the boards could be rearranged to form convex ends, instead of concave? Are screws accessible?

Could be difficult; if there are screws, they are covered with wooden plugs probably to prevent water damage.

Q: What is the thickness?

The thickness of the platform is a 1/2 inch. There is a cross member brace that reinforces the platform which makes the added thickness of 1 1/2 inch in those areas.

Q: Is this flat? The photos make it look angled.

The mat is flat. The sides taper in towards the center.
