In order to make a small throw-style blanket (about 4 ft x 6 ft), I had to purchase five skeins of this wool, using 1.5 inch around "knitting needles". All of that being said, the final product really is beautiful and soft. I had some serious issues while knitting, of this wool becoming super twisted on itself to the point that I had to unroll the entire ball of yarn and untwist the entire thing before I could continue. Perhaps I was doing something wrong, but I have never had such issues when knitting before. The reason I gave it a four star rating is that the quality of the wool is so high, it seems like something that should be bought at an off-road, artist yarn shop rather than something at Meijer or Micheal's. However, one star was removed because of price and the struggles I had with it twisting into knots. Overall, a nice product.
