im in my 40s and drop $200 or more at salons for my long hair. i had tried coloring my own hair once 24 years ago and it turned green so I never attempted again out of fear, turning into a slave to salons.I had a new job coming up and no time for a salon visit. i desperately needed to cover up my roots and took a chance on this. omg I love it so much! Ive used it at least 4 times in the past 3 months. I wish I knew of it sooner. The color is perfect, it’s so easy you can’t mess up. Its one of my favorite products now!

I have been using 'Clairol Nice 'n Easy Root Touch-Up 4 Matches Dark Brown Shades' and want to give this a try. I think both products work very well. My hair is dark brown and this matches well with it. I am not crazy about the applicator, as I have to keep squeezing it to make sure the color came out. Probably just have to get used to it. On the plus side, it really leaves no mess and it makes it easy to color the hair around your face without leaving color on your face. My grays are pretty stubborn, so I left the color on for 15 mins and it did the job well. No weird smell.Make sure to read the instructions. It says not to leave the cap on the applicator for too long after you mix in the color or it may explode. Didn't happen to me but I took the cap off immediately after mixing the color.(In case you do not know this trick...rub some lotion around your face so that if color does touch your face, it comes right off.)

If you follow the directions and don't expect miracles this is good for in-between, not in place of, regular salon colorings. My gray hairs start to show 2 weeks after a salon visit. I can't go to the salon every 2 weeks so I use this to stretch out the visits. It's not as good as the salon experts as they do a better job of reaching all the areas better than me, but it's good enough that my gray hairs aren't as visible and I can get by a few more weeks. I try to make sure I have no residue products on my hair before I use it and find it works better a day or two after my last shampoo. I'm not the best at directions, but you really have to read and follow them to get the best results.
