I would prefer to have a machine that had a built-in freezing unit instead of having to put the bowl in the freezer but the cost of such machines are significantly higher. there have been comments about the noise it makes. It is on the loud side but it is not excessive. How does it turn out?** A: This is how I make it: 2 cups of heavy cream 3 cups of whole milk 1 cup of sugar Mix the 2 cups of heavy cream + 2 cups of whole milk and heat up until simmering, keep it low to avoid burning it. Mix the other cup of whole milk with 1 cup of sugar until dissolve. When simmering, add the milk sugar mix and continue simmering for at least 5 min. Take let it rest constantly mixing it. Keep in the fridge and mix constantly. Then put it in the freezer for 1 to 2 hours, close to frozen. It will get thicker. Pour in the machine and get a soft gelato 👍 **Q: Can I purchase extra bowls to freeze in refrigerator and if so, where do I go or what is the part number on Amazon to acquire them** A: I bought the Tovolo Ice cream tubs and they are very sturdy with a removable inner plastic liner for easy cleaning. The large bowl itself that fits inside the machine is not supposed to have ice cream frozen in it because it can damage it. I leave the empty bowl in my freezer until I'm ready to make a batch and then empty the contents into a Tovolo tub. I looked at other tubs but this brand seemed to have the best reviews, was reusable, and decent in price. They fit about 1.5 quarts and I have a little extra in the machine that I either eat or just put in a small Tupperware dish. I know you can go directly on the Cuisinart website if you need any part numbers for a specific model. I did see extra bowls for the machine on their site and on amazon. Just get your model number for your machine and type that in the search box. **Q: Does anyone know how this compares to the ICE-60W model?** A: The ICE-70 is a step up from the ICE-60W model -- it has an auto count-down feature.
