ROYAL YACHTING ASSOCIATION Yachtmaster Scheme Syllabus & Logbook

All the courses you ever dreamed about
The book is partly a brochure and partly a record of experience. It contains details of all the RYA courses imaginable and shows how different courses relate to each other so that one can plan progression in training and qualifications. There are then pages to record progress through different courses so that each skill can be signed off by an instructor. There are blank tables to record on going experience and details of specific qualifying experience for advanced courses. These provide a template for recording experience. Finally there are pages to "attach" course certificates. On the one hand it is a comprehensive and inexpensive book that if used to the full could record several years of investment in course fees and time spent gaining invaluable life changing experience. I question whether it will survive long in a sometimes damp kit bag to become a treasured momento. Hard covers would be better.

Gives good detail of RYA course requirements.
Does the job it is supposed to do. Already used it when passing my Day Skipper practical. Will provide a good cumulative record of sailing but a bigger logbook may be good for keeping more detailed records of sailing too.

Essential starting point for any sailor
Very useful book for anyone starting out in sailing. Full details of the RYA pathway from novice to Yachtmaster and plenty of logbook pages to tick off those hours on the water.
