Be aware that these are rather lightweight stoneware, not enameled cast iron like the larger LeCreuset pieces. This is why they work in the microwave as well as in the oven. I also use them in a water bath in a larger pan on the stove top, but would not recommend using them on top of the stove without the bain marie.
