I would say it's like covering the floor in a thick yoga mat. The only reason I put 4 stars instead of 5 is that the packs don't all have the same colors, as pictured. Two were almost as pictured (pink, orange, green, blue) and the other 3 substituted turquoise for the green. Overall, I am happy and my kids are happy. It still creates a rainbow patchwork floor like we wanted.
