Zurn1-420 Wilkins Pressure 1-Inch Vacuum Breaker Assembly with Integral Anti-Freeze Relief Valve

I purchased this valve on September 29th , 2019. I only just had the opportunity to install it. Install was easy and straight forward but the unit leaked right away!

This is the third one of these units I have owned. The first one lasted 2 years; the second lasted almost 14 years. I just replaced the 14 year old one with a new 420XL; the bonnet on the unit leaked as soon as it was installed. So I am disappointed with Wilkins' 420XL. Amazon sent the XL, which replaced the one showing on the page (Model 1-420); it was discontinued in 2014. You would think a valve that cost $150 would work. I am not sure if I will use the same unit again, but one of them did last a long time.

Got the whole thing for the cost of the parts. Valves work smoothly. Fit the same joint I had.

Purchased to replace a failed unit from a different manufacturer. Elected to purchase the complete assembly vs attempt to reclaim ball valves from the older unit...........well worth the slight incremental cost as it greatly simplifies installation.

it was everything I needed and was looking for. With the issue I was having and everything is working out fine so for it has being in operations now for a month things are going well.

Great lawn sprinkler apparatus. Worth every penny spent to prevent freeze up in the winter, make bleeding the system a snap.

I'd to replace my old PVB since it broke, great service from Do-It-Yourself Irrigation.
