Or is it the dull chrome?** A: Kind of in between, not real shiny but not the real dull either. It is a great iron and has a great clamp so my fine hair does not slip out. The directions don’t specify what temperature. I have hard to curl hair. I usually use 17 to 19. I have never used numbers higher than that.
