SPOILER ALERT! This is the story of a lone dog named Lucky, who was trapped in an abandoned city after a horrible earthquake. Along the way, he meets a strange pack of dogs. The timid group saves him by fighting off blood thirsty foxes that had cornered him and his meat. He begins to form a bond with the pack and to his surprise he discovers his litter sister. When the city gets shaken by aftershocks, Lucky finally convinces his friends they need to move on. How can they live when his partners don't know how to hunt? Can they survive in the wild in conditions like these? Lucky’s pack walked through the woods seemingly for miles without end until they lose sight of the city. They find the perfect place to rest and the next day he starts teaching them how to hunt. Checking out the surrounding area, they see a house, with an automatic feeder, that periodically dumps dog food into bowls. Lucky senses there is something wrong happening. His friends just waltz right toward the food and find themselves captured by bloodhounds. The hounds don't smell Lucky yet, so he has a chance to get close. His frightened friends are put in a small room, how will he get them out? Lucky considers his options while having to keep a low profile so the bloodhounds do not smell him. Finally, he comes up with a bright idea. He exposes himself and leads them away going through the hidden hole in the fence, then goes back to where his friends are. He brings them back to camp and decides that they need to leave. As the pack travels quickly, he wonders when he will ever be able to leave his partners and be a lone dog once again. As they are walking, he finds a place that is perfect for them. There is plenty of shelter, water, and game in the valley. Plus this valley is hidden so well by the surrounding ridge line that you can’t see it until you are right on top of it. He leaves his friends there feeling regret but also feeling happy that he can be free again. Far off he hears the howls and barks of a dog fight, his pack was in trouble. They had all faced many dangers together but they always prevailed. They traveled so long and so hard, was it all for nothing? All Lucky ever wanted to do was be a lone dog free of responsibilities but he bonded with them. He would not back down, he had to save them. After all the dangers they've been through together will it all end here?TO BE CONTINUED…

Highly readable
Formula writing (Erin is a group) ... but if you are into animals then more of the same is O.K.
