is this worth double the cost of a generic cyclone tube?

I just bought the cyclone tube last week, and it looks like I would have to saw off about 3/16" to connect it to the Sawyer or a water bottle. If trying to connect it to Sawyer and a water bottle both, note that you will have to saw that off both ends of the tube. I sent it back today and will order this to make it less trouble.

Will a narrow mouth Nalgene bottle screw into this fitting?

No. They do sell compatible bottles but Narrow Mouth Nalgene models use a 38 mm thread. The Sawyer filters use the standard 28 mm threads found on most plastic soda bottles around the world including brands like Pepsi and Smart Water.

Does this work with the sawyer mini aswell?

I don't have this product, but the Smart water bottle sports cap works well on the Sawyer mini to backflush. Then you don't have to use the syringe that comes with it. But it still doesn't seem to connect it for gravity fed filtering.
