I bring coffee or tea with me to work every day in either a 25 or a 40 oz double-walled stainless water bottle. Currently I've been on a big tea kick for over a month and on a quest to find a way to make tea from loose tea in the bottle itself. I even purchased a glass water bottle where you screw the infuser onto the bottom of the bottle - it leaked terribly. Tea balls are too big to fit the opening, and I didn't want to use the tea bags you can buy for loose tea because they don't close well (and the clips I've seen for them also don't fit into the bottle) - but more so because I'd rather not deal with that much waste every day.The Steep Stir is perfect for what I wanted. I read reviews here and thought I'd give it a try - the company answered one question here about putting it into a thermos, which is basically what I do, but I didn't want to have it rattling around in there. Instead I hook the infuser onto the removable filter screen (also stainless) that comes with the bottles. It's tilted to the side during this phase but it hangs onto the infuser and it doesn't rattle around during my trip into work while it's steeping.During the 30 minute trip in to work, the infuser makes a good strength tea even in my 40 oz bottle. Once I get to work, I lift the cap which pulls the infuser up and remove it. Perfect tea every time, when I really didn't think it was going to be possible.Wonderful product - and they also are coming out with another version now that has a tighter mesh, which I'll probably get even though this current mesh size seems to do well with my loose tea. I may want to expand into other options with smaller pieces so at that point I'd need it.Highly recommended, great product and very, very well made.-D

Very, very pleased with the Steep Stir! I've been using it several times daily for roughly two weeks and find nothing to dislike about it, everything to love. Further, it is my preferred way to infuse now. I previously used a teapot with its own infuser, but I wasn't happy with the infuser even though I liked the teapot itself. It was just too much trouble overall. With my Steep Stir I make my tea on the fly, it's always the temp I want it to be, and it's easier to use and clean than my teapot infuser. I make tea several times a day and this lovely little gem helps me keep it simple - simple to use, simple to load, and simple to empty. I rarely need to rinse it because a couple of firm taps knocks the expended leaves right out.For my needs I put a slight bend in mine near the neck so that I can hang it on the opening of my thermos mug while it infuses. Not for everyone, I know, but perfect for my needs. To empty the leaves I rotate the barrel so that the seam is in the front and slide it all the way up to the bend. I then have full access to the barrel for emptying despite the bend. I load it over my tea tin to prevent spilled leaves and then rotate the barrel back. My tea has never tasted better and I get two cups from each load of the Steep Stir. I do this at least three times a day and it is a breeze. And I never have a problem getting a cup of tea that is strong enough for my demanding taste buds either.The Steep Stir is so attractive that I feel like I'm spoiling myself while I use it. This was the first steeper I had ever purchased for my introduction to loose tea. I highly recommend this steeper because it stays submerged completely underwater giving your tea the full potential to work it’s magic. I have found that using the 1 tsp measurement to fill it is best. Using a tablespoon to try and fill it was more difficult, since it was much bigger and the product would have a tendency to spill out onto my counter more. Other then that I have no complaints and I think this will serve me well for all of my loose teas.

I needed another type of portable tea infusing... In the past I had purchased tea balls to use for my loose leaf tea steeping because they are inexpensive and portable. Many times the chain would fall in and make it hard to retrieve the tea ball. I tried using the mug infusers but I found it to be inconvenient and way too cumbersome and bulky for travel.I purchased this product a few weeks ago and immediately was captivated with the design, functionality and ease of use. I was able to buy this item at a great sale price on Amazon. I travel a lot and I love the portability of this tea infuser. Since I am a tea junkie, I love taking my loose leaf tea steeping everywhere I go… I am very happy that I can keep the tea in the barrel for a second steeping because that saves time and money. I look forward to taking my steeper camping with me this summer…This portable tea steeper does the job perfectly!

I tried several tea steepers before this, and finally—one that fits! I wanted to be able to brew and keep my tea in my hydroflask (since the hydroflask is the best thermos by far) and this one does the trick. I use "not-tea" (caffeine free spice stuff) so I can leave the brewer in the flask and pour as needed. Not having the hook thing on top is fine cuz I don't fish out the brewer until all the tea is gone. Very happy with this purchase.

I've been looking for a tea infuser that has no plastic or silicon parts, and that was not one of those mesh tea balls or spoon-type infusers.This looks pretty well designed. The mesh sleeve that slides up is prevented from sliding completely off by the wider handle, and there's a mesh circle at the top of the cylinder to allow more water to pass through the infuser. The sleeve seems tight enough that leaves probably won't be straying out, which is something that happens with mesh tea balls over time. As far as tea infusers go, it's pretty slick.It's been great so far, but really, only time will tell if I love it.
