Review: A very worthwhile read and makes alot of sense. If you are wanting to progress - at the start of your career, mid career or indeed towards the end. Buy this book, absorb it - then make a plan. Recommended Review: The best book on this subject. No non-sense, practical, sensible advice on how to survive and thrive at work. It is an honest book, so be ready for some hard truths. But I think this book is exactly on-point, and I applaud the author for making this information available to us, and distilling it in a way that's so easy to understand (and with discipline, to implement). In fact, after I read this book, I had a lot of "aha" moments. Things that used to confuse me before are clear now. This book will allow you to understand how companies make decisions, why you didn't get promoted after your glowing review, how to navigate the office. It's an indispensable book for anyone who cares about their career.

This is a really good book to read for anyone at any stage in their career. It might even be good to revisit it throughout your career. The book provided some basic understanding of the functioning of a modern organization. It provides an all round prospective, including explanation on why somethings donโt happen the way you expect. Ie time served does not equal promotion entitlement. I really recommend it to anyone who is on career path. It is full of gems.

This book is really and eye opener. Gives perspective to why some get ahead and others don't. It also makes you aware why the best fit isn't likely the one promoted. A great read if you have been in corporate a while and need perspective or now joining.
