Lovely designs for babies and small children
A beautiful pattern book with unusual knits and clear instructionsIt is vital to use the recommended yarn however as it's difficult to arrive at the correct tension with substitutesI have two new grandchildren, a boy and a girl, and I will probably knit most of the sweaters and jackets over the next couple of years!

So many things I want to knit! (but see edit)
I have bought several books of baby knits from Amazon in the past and, sadly, have not found more than two or three things in each book I wanted to knit. But this book....WOW! Just counting up the post-its I've put in after a quick look through, have already found SEVEN projects, all of which I'd like to start NOW, and more possibilities on top of that. The designs are absolutely gorgeous, and, better still, usually use yarns that are readily available in the UK and are likely to be so for some time, eg Debbie Bliss and Rowan. To describe the difficulty level...I'd say it's middling' - the book is perfect for me, and I'm 'just about' (!) an intermediate knitter, eg can cable! There's a lot in there I feel I can tackle, whereas so many of the patterns in baby books are really only for advanced knitters. Thank you Vibe for the best baby knit book I've seen! EDIT - (two weeks later...:-)) I started the Garter Stitch Jacket. Simple lace pattern. Everything went well until I had to decrease for the sleeve, while keeping pattern correct, but no instructions for how to do this. Unfortunately I was incapable of working out how to do this and keep the eyelets in the right place when the lace pattern is also gaining and losing stitches. IF ONLY there had been detailed instructions, or a chart. I fear I've wasted time and expensive yarn. Am trying to contact the designer and will edit this review if I can get the pattern in chart form. So perhaps only worth buying if you're a very confident knitter, although, optimistically, I've started the 'Easy' Cable Sweater. I hope to be able to continue the Garter Stitch Jacket one day!

lovely 🧶
The media could not be loaded. There are some GORGEOUS knits in here. I taught myself to knit through lock-down (ish) and got bored of just knitting rows so wanted to try a pattern. I've recently become a God-father so bought this book as it was as cheap as buying one pattern in our local wool shop.Super impressed by the book - there are some lovely patterns and I'm thrilled to say I even managed to make something over a long Bank Holiday weekend (without too much swearing).Great value for money. Would recommend.
