Paws down - best dog shampoo ever!
Iโd give this shampoo 100 stars if I could! First I love the lemongrass scent. Itโs refreshing especially on my high dander Scottish Terrier. Next, her normally coarse hair came out downy soft. No need to apply any detangling products after bath. Do note that a little shampoo goes a long way! I love how it lathers and then rinses nice and clean. Most importantly, my dog was developing skin bumps on her back, which prompted me to switch shampoos before trotting her off to the vet. Skin bumps are GONE after just the first use. I also like that the product is made in USA! She is so annoyed with me because I canโt keep my hands off her body! Soft, healthy fur, just the way we expect it. Last, thank you to all the people who reviewed this product. You were instrumental in my making this purchase. I thank you and my Scottie, Miss Sally thanks you!

Great shampoo especially for dry, itchy skin & allergies!
This is a great shampoo for my terrier with skin problems. Essential oils are very beneficial for the skin. I use them on my skin. The shampoo is very thin, but it really lathers up well & smells wonderful. Don't be alarmed when you see a grayish oily scum in the rinse water. It is from the essential oils. The dog's coat may feel a little oily when you rinse it, but be patient as the coat will feel so soft once it drys. Once I blow dry my dog, his fur fluffs up & is coat is so soft! The essential oils hydrate his skin & help with his itching. I also spray argan oil on his coat & massage it in between shampoos. He loves the massage & the argan oil helps his dry, itchy skin. I love the fact that it is organic. I have to be very careful of everything I use on his skin. I can no longer use any steroid products on him as he developed diabetes 2 years ago (probably due to all the steroids he was on for over 10 years. I won't make that mistake again!) I have actually been able to manage his skin issues quite well without the steroids. I wish I had the knowledge I now have 10 years ago & I would have never went the steroid route. I did not know any better & the vet recommended it. High quality food & organic shampoos have helped tremendously. I give him very little treats now as most of them are loaded with fillers, preservatives, salt, & sugar. He only gets a high protein meat jerky treat that is naturally preserved with plant extracts. His allergy issues are better controlled & he is quite healthy overall now, even though he is over 14 years old & diabetic.

and finally there were those shampoos that smelled worse than mud and muck
I have finally found the shampoo that gets the job done and with two large dogs who swim and joyfully roll in mud and muck on a daily basis. Prior to my discovery, I had gone through many brands. Some were harsh, some didn't foam to my liking, others left a residue, still others dried their skin and dulled their coat, and finally there were those shampoos that smelled worse than mud and muck .... for days on end. I was drawn to this shampoo because of its ingredient simplicity (organic oils of coconut, olive and jojoba, oil blend of rosemary and lemongrass, rosemary extract and aloe vera) and the fact that it is saponified oil soap, which is about as close to natural or organic as one can buy. The directions added a smile: "Shake well before use (the bottle - not the dog)" and in this day and time, the clarification is probably wise. It is further directed to use warm water; given my dogs have an "outdoor shower facility" consisting of a hose attached to a water faucet, they have to settle for cool water (living in South Florida there is no such thing as cold running water). With much anticipated disappointment, I tried 4 Legger Dog shampoo and was astonished and amazed. It foams nicely with only a small amount for each body quadrant needed (despite the instructions to "liberally apply"). I do massage deeply, partly to remove all mud and muck, partly to check their bodies for any lumps, bumps, and hitchhikers, and partly because who doesn't like a deep massage! It rinses out easily and quickly leaving them literally squeaky clean down to their skin. Their coats are left soft and shiny. The fragrance is refreshingly light and clean and lingers on their bodies and on one's hands for about 30 or so minutes; I'm half tempted to buy a bottle for my personal use! Perhaps with more 5 star reviews a 2 Legger Human Shampoo will be available. It should be easy enough by simply crafting an additional label changing the "4" to a "2" and nothing else! Attached are before and after pictures of my one dog. My Giant refused to be photographed, naked, tethered to a pole and tortured (his word, not mine) with organic dog shampoo and water. However, I did manage to covertly video the after 4-Legger after bath euphoria. Bottom line: This is a 5-star worthy shampoo and my dogs are worthy of only the best I can find for them! Cheers!

Organic product, strong smell
I selected this product because itโs organic hoping itโs safer for the pet, even though itโs pricier than other brands. But my partner says its smell is too strong.

Only shampoo we trust!
Absolutely have loved these champions since discovering them a few years ago. We love the unscented & the lemongrass shampoos, and the peppermint cedar is our favorite for summertime since it does a great job of keeping the fleas away and cools the dogโs fur during bath time. Itโs safe for human use, so I can confirm from both bathing them, & using this myself sometimes, that the cooling effect is quite refreshing! I know they have a lavender oatmeal one too, and I would love the lavender honestly, but my dogs are allergic to oat so I wonโt risk it. Anyway, back to the review!! Nothing toxic, itโs everything it claims to be, and I love that a little goes a long way! It is true that if you add more water -not more shampoo- that it will lather more. I have three medium sized dogs, all under 30 lbs, and one bottle lasts about 5 weeks (including their weekly baths AND those emergency messy-adventure baths in between I didnโt plan on). Great value for the money and am so grateful this company exists and this product is reasonably priced. I donโt feel safe putting anything else on my dogs, and some of the mainstream shampoos I used to try from Petco or Petsmart had ingredients I couldnโt pronounce and EWG labeled dangerous ingredients that negatively impact human health too, which worried me. Shouldnโt have to worry that a champion is putting myself or my dogs at risk! My dogs would get rashes and skin irritations, and my poor hand werenโt loving the experience either. But now Iโm excited for bath day because of this product, honestly..not something I would ever believe Iโd say, but it is in fact true. Most of the shampoos are not safe to use on cats due to the oils, but the unscented shampoo of theirs has no essential oils in it, so Iโve actually used that one on my cat. Donโt worry, he wasnโt traumatized. My cat seems to feel left out on dog bath day, so he gets to hop in the shower when Iโm done, and the unscented shampoo leaves his fur soft and feathery once he is all rinsed & dried off- and he is a Maine coon mix, so he has a lot of fur! Overall, if I could give the company ten stars I would, and I absolutely recommend Four Legger Shampoo to any dog lover that wants the best for their canine companion & family members.

UPDATED JUNE 2019:: Works great, smells great and now MORE uses than just a dog shampoo!!
I love this shampoo! I wanted to try something that was made using natural products and not chemically induced to rid my dog of fleas. I found this easy to use, but I wish it was a thicker product, its more like a water type of consistency. You can smell the lemongrass in the shampoo, I was a bit worried that the smell might overpower my dog, I mean he has a better sense of smell than I do and I could really smell it. It lathered up well and I did it twice, starting from the head, don't get it in their eyes or nose, and worked my way down to the tail. I rinsed him off and applied it again to be sure that I got every inch of him. He smells great, he has no reaction to it which is what concerned me initially due to the strong smell. But next morning he is doing fine, eating is good and not lethargic at all. He looks, acts and seems like he is content so I would give this product a very good rating. Oh sorry, this is the second shampoo I have given him, I wanted to wait and see if it works and if it affected him adversely. He is fine. 4-Legger Certified Organic Dog Shampoo - All Natural and Hypoallergenic with Aloe and Lemongrass, Soothing for Normal, Dry, Itchy or Allergy Sensitive Skin - Biodegradable - Made in USA - 16 oz Update June 2019: WAY MORE THAN A SHAMPOO!! My dog is doing absolutely great. NO FLEAS!! BUT we have also found another use for this great product and it has worked for us. We use it in our garden and lawn sprayer to rid and deter fleas and other insects in the yard outside. Simply mix it with water and a few more drops of lemongrass oil and you have a mixture that fleas simply hate. I don;t know if this is a side benefit but the neighborhood has feral cats and the garden bed has been a sort of litter box but NO MORE! I soaked the area and now there are no traces of cat poop or anywhere else in my yard due to frequent spraying of our yard! I love it, it is not poisonous or toxic to kids and pets which always concerned me when I use to spray with actual insecticides. Great product, happy dog and customer!!

Almost too good to be true!
I actually waited to review this product because the first experience with it was so good I thought it had to be a fluke, but we've now used it for two baths and I couldn't be more pleased! I have a one-year-old border collie/golden retriever who has been dealing with hot spots and other skin ailments during warm weather. We've tried everything from new flea meds to changing her diet to various skincare options like coconut oil. This not only did the trick - it worked INSANELY fast. Within 1 - 2 days after her first bath the scabs fell right off with healthy, happy skin underneath. Her itching is almost non-existent and she is visibly more relaxed. The bottle says it washes clean fast and that is no joke, PLUS it dries super fast even with just a thorough towel dry, which is super important for reducing hot spots. I honestly could not be more pleased - and she's happy too! My husband is pretty sensitive to smell and says she smells "too essential oily" right after her bath (which is why I gave it 4/5 stars for scent even though it's a solid 5/5 for me) but the smell fades to a pleasant level you really only notice while cuddling as soon as she's dry. For management between baths (she wants baths weekly, but we worry about causing problems by bathing too often!) I also use "Pets Are Kids Too" Anti-Itch Spray and the combination has improved the look and feel of her coat as well as her overall quality of life; we've had so many compliments about how soft she is and how great she smells!

Don't let anywhere close to their eyes
DO NOT let this shampoo get in your dog's eyes. Some got in our pups eyes which was rinsed off but her eyes were swollen shut a few hours later. Had to rinse out her eyes and wait until next day before she fully recovered. It did a great job on her coat but should not be used past their neck. BE CAREFUL!!!

Good quality
This product goes along way. Itโs pricey but itโs thick and should add water to water it down and it will go a long way.

Smells nice and lathers well
Leaves a slight lemongrass scent which is not too strong and just smells fresh and clean. It lathers better than other shampoos Iโve tried. Itโs very watery but you donโt need a lot. I will purchase again.

The best dog shampoo we've found.
There are lots of shampoos for dogs with claims that they are all natural, plant-based etc. But when you research the actual ingredients, they aren't always as benign as they first appear. Our dog's wonky immune system has resulted in allergies and skin issues, so it's important that we use as few chemicals and medicated products as possible on her. This 4-Legger organic shampoo fits the bill perfectly, and I've yet to find another that has such quality ingredients, without unecessary additives. It's not a cure for our dog's allergies, it doesn't claim to be, but it's cleansing, calming, gentle on our dog's skin, and leaves her coat in beautiful condition. The gorgeous smell of lemongrass is a bonus. Don't let the fact it's not a thick, gloopy shampoo fool you. That's simply the lack of added "iffy" thickeners. We just add some to warm water in a jug then pour on, lather up and rinse.
