Does the antenna need to be out for FM radio?

You get a better reception with the antenna up, but still not bad if it's down. My husband puts the, radio in his shirt pocket sometimes when he's walking the dog and he can still listen to it.

Don’t know frank as I haven’t gone away yet but prob depends upon reception in the area you’re in. Can’t get lbc on my main dab radio due to reception locally. Can only get it on Freesat on tv or sky.
