Excellent Quality Feed That Keeps My Chickens Happy and Healthy
I've been very impressed with Scratch and Peck Feeds Layer Mash. After switching my chickens and ducks to this feed, I noticed they eagerly eat it, and I've been happy with their overall health and condition. The 16% protein formula provides the balanced nutrition they need to stay active and support consistent egg production. One thing I really appreciate is the quality of the ingredients. I feel confident knowing my flock is getting essential vitamins, minerals, and calcium to help produce strong eggshells and maintain healthy feathers. I also like that I can feed it dry, mix it with water, or even ferment it, depending on what works best for my birds. The 40 lb bag lasts a good amount of time, making it a great value for my flock. Since using this feed, I've noticed healthy, energetic birds and excellent egg quality. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with Scratch and Peck Feeds Layer Mash, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality feed for laying chickens and ducks. I will definitely keep buying it. It has been a great choice for my flock, and I'm very happy with the quality and results.

Better egg production than anything else out there
Super happy with this feed. We have tried other options for soyfree/corn free feeds, because this one is definitely pricey. However, it's been very worthwhile for us, resulting in increased egg production and excellent quality of eggs. Last year when we switched to another organic, soy free corn free feed option, egg production went down quite a bit. When we went back to this, it went up quickly This was also during the time of losing light per day, when we would normally have fewer eggs however production actually increased. Very happy with this and have been using for several years now.

The best chicken feed you can buy for your flock, but definitely not the cheapest
This chicken feed is very high quality, and my 15 chickens love it the best out of any other feed I have given them. This feed has a lot of healthy, organic ingredients and not a lot of fillers, unlike most other feeds that tend to pack in a lot of fillers into each bag. The chickens also laid the most eggs ever, eating this feed. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, because it is quite expensive per pound. So if you're going to purchase it, you need to weigh whether you're willing to pay more for the feed to get more eggs. Good luck with your flock!

My hens are laying 2x the eggs on this feed!
I can't say enough good stuff about this company, the people that work there or their product!Due to a shipping mistake (not theirs!) my package was returned. When I inquired where my package was I received an email back the same day letting me know what had happened. I also found out that they'd sent me an email notifying me immediately after the pkg was returned but it went to my spam and I missed it (again, not their fault).Upon my contacting the company they asked for an address confirmation and offered to send the feed out the next day. Being that they were responding to my second email late in the day, that's as quick as you can get! I offered to pay for the reshipping fee and they quickly refused, insisting they'd just send it off and hoped I'd be happy w/ my new feed. Now that you know they are helpful, kind and go the extra mile for their customers, let's talk about the product. This chicken feed is incredible. You can clearly identify REAL and healthy food in the feed. My birds have started running up to me when I walk outside since I scattered some on the ground for pecking the first day it arrived. It's lasting much, much longer than the pellets we've used in the past, saving me money and saving my back from ducking into the run to refill the food dish multiple times a week.Even better, my birds are laying 2x as many eggs, if not more. It's simply incredible!!! Imagine my shock when I opened the coop to find a PILE of eggs instead of a couple. I'm so happy with this feed, I love knowing my kids are reaping the benefits of healthier eggs and I'm thrilled to be offering a better life for my birds. Please consider ordering this feed, you'll never regret it!

Something isn’t adding up
Something is going on with this feed. I venture to say likely not the claimed protein content, as the ladies have been behaving uncharacteristically regarding their feeding and laying behaviors. As if they are lacking protein. I’m disappointed, have been using it for years, but noticed a change in the last few bags. May have been going on longer, but the last thing I thought of was the feed because I like to buy quality, and I’ve been loyal to this brand as it’s been solid for years. I guess the economy has even hit the feed. Now I’m making my own mix so I can guarantee the protein content. As I said - started making my own, now the ladies are back to normal and their laying is back on track as well. Savings not substantial making my own mix. I’d say this is more of a convenience to be able to buy it pre-mixed in a bag. But - if you’re spending on avg $80/mo on feed, you better have some darn good egg production. Welp- not with this product any longer. The average cost making it on your own is about $.93 a pound. But the egg production is definitely better and returned. Let’s face it- we’re in it for the eggs as well as loving our ladies.
