AT LAST! QUALITY INK AT AN HONEST PRICE.
I was fed up with falling into the trap of buying a cheap printer then being extorted into buying dramatically over-priced ink. I tried refilling the cartridges. That was a mess. Then I found that my local Costco would do the refilling. They did a really good job, but on my fixed retirement income I still felt restricted when I needed to print in colour. The price was still high. I calculated that if the oil companies charged the same for gas that Canon charged for ink, a tank of gas would cost over $120,000. A can of Coke would be $862. A jug of milk $9,716. A bottle of wine $1,822. Man, was I being ripped off! Then a year ago yesterday I discovered Smart Inks. I was a bit nervous about exposing my printer to possible death by cheap ink, but what did I have to lose? Canon would sell me a new one at (presumably) below cost. I was only risking about $50 to potentially save a whole lot more. It was worth it. Well, was I ever right about that! The ink is great. I have been using it ever since. My printer is happily purring away, my creative juices have been untied so I can print my masterpieces with reckless abandon, and at the same time I can still afford to eat.Life is good. So is Smart Ink.UPDATE 3 YEARS LATER. So here we are after 3 more years, with not one negative experience from Smart Ink. My Canon printer just died from a problem in the electronics. Print head was still working perfectly, so there was no ink-related issue.During those 3 years I did a lot of printing. I design and print "posters" - letter size - and print around 300 copies of a 3-page newsletter in colour 3 or 4 times a year. I have printed on cheap copy paper from Costco, glossy and matte photo paper and high resolution paper. I have received compliments on quality from my clients, and I feel entirely satisfied that the quality of Smart Ink is at least as good as Canon's ink. Before ordering my new printer, I made sure Smart Inks would be available for it. If not, that would have been a deal breaker.

Black cartridges didn't work for me
The colored cartridges were fine but black printed with white lines. I spent a lot of time trying to clean the printhead thinking it's the source of the problem. Nothing helped and I bought Canon black cartridges both CLI-281 and PGI-280 and printer is working fine again. Obviously there is some issue with at least some of the inks and I'm worried it might defect my printhead. Next time I'll stick with Canon cartridges, doesn't worth the hassle.UPD: The seller of the product reached out to me and offered to send a new set for free. I'm happy with their customer service and since colored cartridges are working fine I'm willing to give the set another try. I'll update my review once I receive it and try it (after the current set will run out).

INK CELL DIDN'T WORK
Purchased these in August, 2019 and started putting them into use as the OEM ones went empty in my Canon printer but came across the first fail yesterday.Shortly after starting the Smart Ink PGBK tank, my pages started only printing partial sentences and then quit altogether. I ran every maintenance test the printer has but nothing helped. Purchased a new OEM PGBK black ink cell from Staples and it ran perfectly.I then replaced the Smart Ink cell AGAIN and it failed. Holding a light to the side of the Smart Ink cell, I can see the cell is full of ink. Not sure what the problem is but for the first time purchase of these "better" cells from Smart Ink I am so disappointed! Not recommended

Color work great but the big black cartridge clogs VERY often.
ORIGINAL REVIEW (check the edit below for update)Overall those cartridges work great for the price however the PGBK cartridge often get clogged if you don't print for a while.Lucky for me my printer have some deep cleaning function that manages to fix it but I have to do this pretty often to unclog it. The color cartridges don't seem to have this problem.EDIT: 1 month later, I'm changing my review from 4 stars to 1 stars. Those cartridges are ALWAYS clogged now. I have to run 2 to 3 cleaning cycle every time I try to print something and even then I have to use the quality mode of my printer because if not the blacks are all patchy. Yes even for all black normal document I have to use quality because then I have missing text.I will go back and using official canon cartridges even if it means paying a lot of money for them.

Reliable and affordable
I bought the Smart Ink as compatible Ink Cartridge replacements for those in my Pixma TS9120. The cartridges have better labeling than the original ones from Canon, the font is larger and easier to read. Installation was simple, the same as installing Canon's cartridges. They were recognized by the printer immediately. There was no smudging, and after a month there is no indication of problems with usage.
