Mission Impossible, yet this trap makes it possible! Place outside in early spring (March).
These traps work GREAT! But you have to be ruthless about it, show no mercy toward the annual invasion of flying stinging pests. That is your your mission, if you choose to accept it: kill the queens before they can setup new colonies in your yard. Put these outside in early March, that's no exaggeration. The first warm day of spring the wasp, hornet and yellow jacket queens will awaken and be flying around. They'll also be very hungry. I use a solution of regular super sweet nectar (electro-nectar) with apple cider vineagar, and sometimes add sugar to the mix although unnecessary if you are already using the nectar. The final step is the most important: add a few drops (that's it, no more) of dishwashing liquid like Ajax or Dawn as the last step. Once the insects are lured to the trap they get the dishwashing liquid on their wings which hinders their ability to fly. But you have to put these out EARLY in the spring to get the queens. if you put them out later you will have tens of thousands of stinging flying insects to deal with, just put these out early and enjoy your summer. I check these traps and refill them every 6-8 weeks. Do that at sunrise, that's when wasps, hornets and yellow jackets are least active. Don't bring the muck inside the traps into your house to clean out, just shake it out on the ground or directly into a trash bag. These bugs don't care how dirty and disgusting your traps are, remember they hang out by trash cans at the gas station right? So it's not necessary to clean these traps when you refill them, just follow the formula. Some people claim there's different types of formulas for different parts of the season (for spring and summer) but I've found my formula noted in this review here works consistently all the time. This is the style of trap to get in GA at least. The ones with the 2 different compartments (top half vs bottom half) don't attract much with the bottom half around here. This is essentially the top half of a typical 2 section WHY trap. This is all I've needed here for great results. Good luck!

Caught ONE wasp in a month.
The garden near my house attracts so many wasps. I've looked for a nest but can't seem to locate one. Based on the good reviews, I went with this wasp trap. I tried a mixture of sugar and water, and then tried two different kinds of beer. It only caught ONE wasp in a month. :( At first, I hung the trap about 24" off the ground, which is right in line with all of the flowers they love to frequent in the garden. Then, I hung it higher. I hung it off the roof that overhangs the deck. Either way, the different location didn't helped to catch more than the one wasp. Not sure what else to try as bait to attract the wasps. With that, I wouldn't buy this again or recommend it.

Simple but effective
I am not sure where they come from, but fruit flies are an annual annoyance. This is the best solution that I have found.Be careful when you put them into plants, the leaves will stick and get torn off when you remove this. I wish they had other colors, I’m not a big fan of the bright yellow everywhere but maybe that’s part of what the fruit flies like?

It catches mosquitoes too!
Bought this for a camping trip and used a sugary orange soda as bait. The night light attracts mosquitoes and I trapped a few dozen. Caught exactly one yellow jacket, but then there weren't a whole lot of them around either. The quality and design seem good, so time will tell of their effectiveness.

Easy to install.
Had it up now for a month with orange juice in it and not one bee has flew in it.

Very effective for hornets
I chose this product to combat a hornet infestation around my peach tree. They were everywhere! I bought four of these traps and put in sugar water (Boil water, then stir in 1 part sugar per 4 parts water, allow to cool) mixed with a little honey. It takes the hornets a day or two to realize it's there, but once a few wander in, they are immediately followed by tons of their friends. I have filled all four traps twice and now my yard is hornet free. These absolutely worked for me, plus the price was right and they're easy to operate.

Doesn’t work!
Easy to use but that doesn’t really matter if the product doesn’t work. It caught a few flies but no wasps which was the whole point.

These are incredible!
Use apple juice + water or apple cider vinegar + water, to the fill line, and you will 100% catch wasps and yellow jackets! The honey bees NEVER got trapped and we cut down the wasps and yellow jackets like crazy for the end of summer. Very impressed! These are also very easy to clean!
