My bird loves it, great for the price
This is an excellent deal, because I haven’t found a comparable play stand for less than twice the price or more. It’s bigger than I thought it would be. Perfect size for my cockatoo. There’s a lot you can do to jazz it up if you add extra perches and ladders, to keep it interesting for your bird. If you follow the directions, putting it together isn’t hard. There were only a couple small issues that don’t affect my rating. Some of the screws to the ladder rungs had fallen out during shipping, and the screws were in the box, but they wouldn’t stay when I tried putting them back in because the hole was too loose. I used cable ties to tie them on there, but later I’ll go in and drill holes to use bigger screws. I couldn’t attach the bottom of one of the ladders because the screw holes didn’t line up, so I had to use a cable tie. I like the skirt that goes around the sides because it catches the poop. But if you want to move the play stand to a different room, it won’t fit through the door unless you remove it. Overall, this is pretty sturdy, with the exception of the wooden rungs on the ladders. At least on mine, they were not screwed on very securely because the screws are small, and some of the holes they’re screwed into are too loose, so the screws fall out easily. I’ll probably end up replacing all the screws with slightly bigger ones. Unit won’t easily break or fall over. Metal parts stay in place and don’t move around if you push on them. The other night I tripped and fell on it. It knocked the skirt out of place a little, and didn’t hurt the unit at all. I easily popped the skirt right back into place. Easy to clean. It took a few days for my bird to warm up to it because he’s shy around new things. I put treats in the treat cup to give him motivation to climb it, and that helped. Overall, I’m extremely pleased with this purchase and recommend this play stand. The slight issues I had with it were worth it for the price.

Our Amazon loves this Playstand! We keep it in our patio so she can look at the forest.
We purchased this Parrot Playstand for our Amazon and she just loves it! In the morning, she is ready to get to her stand and if I am not fast enough for her, she will fly to the patio sliding glass doors and scream to be let out. When we moved into our new home, we purchased this Playstand and put it in our patio for her. We live in a wooded area, filled with trees and lots of birds. She loves looking at the forest and listening to the variety of birds that sing. She stays on the playstand from morning until she is ready to come back in the house. We have had this stand for her over a year now and it is holding up very well. We have not had any problems with rust or anything breaking. This playstand comes with a toy holder, that is located above her head when she sits on the top perch. We placed 2 large toys for her, one on each side and she loves to play with them during the day. Very pleased that it comes with this accessory because, my Amazon loves her toys. There is a food dish and water dish that is a good size and large enough for me to fit all her favorites foods. The water bowl is also a generous size. Any of the shells from her nuts stay inside the playstand unless, she decides to throw them on the floor. LOL! But, the way the bottom part of the stand is designed, it keeps the food from dropping to the floor. It is also easy to clean, we keep newspaper on the grill and just replace it every day. There are 4 ladders that she likes to climb when she is in a frisky mood but, for the most part, she just likes to sit on her perch all day. Assembly did not take long, my husband put it together in around 2 hours, give or take. Very happy that we purchased this playstand for our girl. The patio is her most favorite place to be and purchasing this playstand for her makes it all that more fun for her to be outside. She likes to look at the pool and the waterfall along with the forest. As a bird owner, that has a very happy Amazon, I would recommend this playstand to my fellow bird owners.

Meant for medium to large birds, AWESOME product at a very fair price!
I should have triple checked the measurements, because it’s about three times bigger than I was expecting! This playgym would be absolutely perfect for medium parrots like Amazons and African Greys, and I think Even the larger Cockatoos and Macaws would be happy with the space to move. Very sturdy once it is all assembled, and the instructions were very straightforward and clear - they did a great job making sure I knew how to assemble parts and tips and tricks for making the assembly easier. If you’ve assembled any bird cages before this will be a breeze for you. Take your time, read the instructions carefully, and voila! The seedguard was the only difficult part of assembly for me, but I managed it well enough on my own. I did have to fix the U-bend perch - they had forgotten hardware to install the perch! I ended up using two small nails. An extra long screw, short screw, and bolt were included. All in all an awesome piece at a price you can’t find anymore elsewhere! I have always been impressed and pleased with Prevue Hendrix’s parrot products, and this piece continues to support that regard.

Suitable only for small birds, really
This is supposed to be suitable for a Grey, and mine is even on the small side--something like the 1st percentile in weight for the species--but of course she likes to climb up to the top and that wire is so thin her feet can't close around it. She's balancing up there like a tightrope dancer even after I wound 1/4" rope around it. So I'm going to have to go back and wind more. The cross bar she's meant to perch on is slick, so I wound string around it, too, and that works fine now. The swing will need more string, I expect, but she hasn't used it yet so I don't know. She does love all the toys I can hang on this one, although it's been challenging finding some that are short enough and yet tough enough for a Grey, so that's a plus! It was easy to put together, taking about two hours spread over two evenings. Everything fit for a wonder: Kudos to the manufacturer for that! And the instructions aren't bad, as these things go--just one glitch, easily corrected. It feels wibbldy-wobbldy, though, and really doesn't have a good stable place to grab hold of it to move it, but I think that is only going to be an issue if you try to put a macaw on it, which of course you are not going to do, amirite? I would not try to move it with a flightless bird on it, which I had hoped to be able to do. Too much risk of it tipping with them and them falling. I had to put wood-and-rope ladders on the wire ladders to give her decent footing, as recommended by another reviewer. And, as others have noted, the dishes are perfectly placed poop-catchers. So I tend not to use them until she's been on the gym for a while and is likely to be hungry/thirsty and come down to eat/drink. Then I will pick them up again. These two issues I expected, so no biggie. I bought it for my study. I began working at home with the pandemic and like it this way so it looks to be a permanent arrangement. It's a part-time job, but still. The bird has been spending 20 hours a week back here with me on a boring, plain-vanilla roll-around perch. I wanted her to have something she could climb around on, something that would be stimulating, entertaining. I wanted habitat enrichment! And this works for all of that except the climbing: I literally am going to have to wrap every inch of it in rope to give her footing. For the money, though, it is a good-quality piece. It fits in a small house/room. And it is growing on her. Yesterday she refused to even come back to work after lunch because she thought I was going to put her on it: This was highly unusual because normally she fusses at me if I'm running late. Today I let her climb across in her own time, which she eventually did. For a small bird, especially one that could fly from one perch to another (which she can't, as she's an inveterate plucker), it would be perfect.

Big and sturdy; perfect with a few modifications
I'm glad I bought this stand for my African grey, but recommend making specific adjustments to avoid things getting pooped on unnecessarily (namely the back ladders, swing and a bar towards the back of the stand). Although the instructions could have been broken down into a couple more steps than the two pictured, it was still easy enough to assemble. I like how sturdy the stand is even when you try to wiggle it around. It's also taller than I expected, which isn't at all a bad thing. It certainly gives you lots of room for toys and your parrot ample opportunity to climb around. From what I understand, the stand normally comes with 4 ladders and 2 cups. I bought it used from Amazon Warehouse and it came with several of these accessories missing. Luckily, I was already planning on modifying the stand and leaving out some parts, so this wasn't a big deal for me. I'm certainly not going to fault the stand itself for how the warehouse handled this specific used product. Before I even bought this stand, I figured my grey would constantly poop on the ladders at the back of it, since she'd mostly be facing away from the wall. I was therefore only going to use one long and one short ladder anyway (which was conveniently exactly what I received). As it was also most certainly going to get pooped on, I never even attached the swing. Like other potential left-over accessories of a complete product, I can see it working quite nicely as an add-on to your bird's cage, though. That's what I plan to do with her swing, at least. The missing bowls were easily replaced and I think I actually prefer the ones I'm using because they take up so little space. I'm overall very happy with this stand and can only see one flaw in how you're supposed to put it together: After a few days, it became obvious that my grey would, more often than not, poop directly onto the hindmost black bar at the middle of the stand. But, thankfully, removing this bar doesn't seem to have affected the stand's stability at all. If this had made the stand less sturdy, I would have considered this a serious design flaw and lowered my rating. But it's still steady as a rock, so I don't really see this as a problem, to be honest. I simply recommend you never add it in the first place. Using my custom set-up, I find the stand fairly easy to clean; I typically just put a big piece of cardboard on top of the gutter and some newspaper on the seed guards to catch her droppings. This keeps the mess to a minimum and is much easier to deal with than the stand I used previously. All in all, this stand is very sturdy, surprisingly big (it's taller than me) and easy to assemble and modify. A few simple adjustments make the clean-up a breeze. And last but not least: My bird loves it.

Great for macaws!
This is an awesome complement to my macaw's cage. We've had it for 7-8 months and don't know what we would do without it. It's very large (which is what we wanted) and well-constructed. We keep it on the same floor of the house because it's so heavy, but it easily rolls around for different views. When we leave for a few hours, we park it right next to her big cage, so she can go back and forth. She can pull the cups out of their holders very easily, and the entire holders can be pulled from the frame of the cage - resulting in an annoying game of spilling food and throwing the cups. After trying a few things, we learned that a couple rubber bands on the cup below the holder keep the cup in the holder - those never need to be removed. Two more rubber bands applied as a figure-8 can be used to keep the holder on the frame. To clean and refill the food cup, simply take off the figure-8 rubber bands and take the cup/holder assembly off the frame. Problem solved. The top wire is flimsy (1/8" wire), but she loved it and it held her. I took it off and replaced it with 1/4" steel rods (required a bit of grinding to get the rods into the holes on the frame) with a big wooden perch across the span ($22ish on Amazon). It looks awesome, but of course she doesn't use it now, other than hanging from the eye-hook screws I screwed into the bottom of the perch, and banging on the hanging toys. I can always put the original wire back on - just wing nuts. The unit cleans up fairly easily, considering the mess a macaw makes. She climbs around on the side rails, but never uses the lower perch or the stairs (other than to chew on them). This thing has far exceeded our expectations.

Stable not top heavy
This playstand has been a fantastic addition for my Indian Ringneck. The Black Hammertone finish looks sleek, but what really makes it worth buying is how functional and sturdy it is. The stand feels solid from top to bottom, and the construction is durable enough to handle daily use from an active, curious bird. The layout is well designed plenty of space for climbing, perching, and exploring without feeling cluttered. The included cups are convenient for snacks or water, and the tray makes cleanup quick and easy. My Ringneck took to it immediately and now spends a good part of the day playing, climbing, and just hanging out on it. It’s clearly enriching for him, and it gives him a safe, elevated spot to enjoy. If you want something that’s built to last and actually keeps your bird engaged, this playstand is absolutely worth it. Functional, durable, and genuinely bird‑approved.

Prevue Small Parrot Play-stand
Fast, fast, fast shipping. I have several stands thru out the house and this one has caught my African Grey's eye. She loves it. As far as size goes...Misty is an average size Congo and it is a perfect size for her. My other two are larger and take up much more real estate so my preference is towards this one. I should also mention that not only was it easy to assemble, it is also very sturdy. For that first grand poop (because she is excited) I just place her at the right spot on the perch as to miss everything on the way down. After that.....not a problem yet. By the way, did I say super fast shipping. If not......Fast Shipping. Thanks.
