Awesome Razor
I bought this due to the reviews, the weight, the price and the fact that sharpening tools were not needed. The weight is like a true straight razor. I just let the razor do the work. No pressure needed. The Parker is a well made unit. No need to sharpen and strop like the old days. It had been years since I used a straight, so I thought I'd give this a try. Works great. Like a bike, right back to using both hands on both sides of the face. No cuts. Fits in my hands perfectly. Does not slip. No need to get the handle wet when using. CARE IS NEEDED when opening the blade lock to insert or remove the blade. If you do this wrong, you will pay. It is tricky. Just be patient and careful. I use my fingernails to open but using another item might be better (small screwdriver, butter knife). This is my only peeve with this unit. I tried to press back on the lock lever on the spine, when unlocked, to see if it would open easier while prying the two halves apart. It did not work. If the manufacturer improved this so it was easier to open, then it would be near perfect. Other than that, I really like this unit. I would say to teach yourself not to grab for the blade if dropped. Something we had to learn it the trades. Just practice with the razor and a small piece of tin foil ( make shift blade) over a towel in the sink-like you are loading the razor with a blade. The idea is teach yourself not to instinctively grab for them if dropped. Just saying. Also watch some of Lynn Abrams videos on using a straight razor if your are a newbie. I personally did not like the blades that came with the razor. Seemed dull to me, but, so did others. I have a very stiff and thick beard. Bought a sample pack of double edge blades and tried several. For me, the Feather Platinum and Astra Platinum blades and this unit kick butt.

Very good quality
I have been using this for awhile now. Very easy to use and I like the way you can securely change the blades and know it's locked into place

Great Quality Razor — Professional, Sharp, and Durable!
As a licensed cosmetologist who occasionally cleans up my boyfriend’s lineup and beard, I can say this product is excellent. It’s sharp, professional-grade, and made with heavy, durable material. Even after accidentally leaving it in a damp ziplock bag while traveling, it didn’t rust at all. The replacement blades are super convenient, one blade lasts through a few uses on one person before needing to be swapped out. The design makes it really easy to insert and remove the blades, and the secure backing ensures the razor stays firmly in place during use. Highly recommend this if you're looking for a quality straight razor for home.

Another review? what else can I learn about this Parker?
I am a barber of 14 years and have handled a wonderful amount of straight razors. Time for this straight razor review WEIGHT: This will take a bit of time to get use-to. Unlike some of the other plastic/ metal Straight Razors (SS) that have a grace point for the amount of pressure you add; this one is all metal. The added weight can cause to add more pressure than you'd want or expect. This can be used as a plus by counter balancing the blade to adjust that grace point to create the great shave we are expecting from a nice quality piece. This can fatigue you greatly for dense facial hair since it requires more finessing. That being said, hitting the awkward angles of the face (depending on the structure you have) may require some practice. Old wisdom reigns here; let the tool do the work, counter balance and adjust the tang to grip your pinky STRUCTURE: the structure is great! the blade is not fully exposed and it does allow enough exposure to allow a good connection between the skin and blade. I feel like Parker got it spot on! when you load your blade in the shavette the two copper pins sit the blade wonderfully ***Pro Tip** (when you snap your full blade in half, load your blade with the bent portion face down towards the shavette, otherwise you may experience loading issues) ** when you close your shavette the spine will seal that blade in place! that grip will strengthen the blade and create a great angle to shave. SHARP THERE IS NO HEEL! most shavettes do not size the blade they load, into the final design. Parker is no different. the blade you load will not reach the heel which will allow you to only use the edge of the shavette. not a con but some real-estate Could have been used there. The SHANK: this is a little flat for the design itself. for how heavy the all metal adds to the design they would have made this portion a little more thicker to have a better grip and would have added a much more quality feel to the overall design TANG: love it! its a little long. its a little more safe, its a little extra its a little more legit! when you need to counter balance the tang can be a great tool that can help you reach better angles while keeping a better grip. PIVOT POINT: The pivot point is more snug than lose. the important take away is where you open it, is where it will stay. Personal opinion: at first getting use-to the weight caused some small razor burns and Knicks because I was use to lighter units but got use-to it by the 3rd shave. The low blade exposure doesn't allow me to sharpen edges like beards and hairlines because there's not enough exposure from the edge, to skin, to hair ratio. So personally I'd strictly use it to shave with minimal effort which is OK FOR ME! new guys can use this to create great muscle memory and good habits but id recommend something bit more forgiving in the grand scheme of things. pretty great unit

Good starter Razor
Not a bad razor I do recommend it, especially if you’re gonna learn to shave with a straight razor.

Excellent DE compatible straight.
If you're a DE shaver, and interested in using a straight, start here. The ability to snap DE blades in half and use them in this provides significant value, so you can try multiple kinds to find the ones that work for you. I bought this one because I didn't want to use special proprietary blades. Construction is good. Only 2 issues quality-wise I found are purely aesthetic. One side of the hinge rivet was slightly split when it was set and not polished out. The other is the length of each side of the handle is different, causing the end of the handle to look slightly odd. Neither of these affect the usage, and I'm sure the razor will last forever.

PARKER SRX STRAIGHT RAZOR
I used the PARKER SRX STRAIGHT RAZOR today and was absolutely disappointed. I had the most uncomfortable shave ever. The razor felt like it was old and used with a jagged edge. Half way through I completed the shave with my gillete pro glide. The shaver was setup properly and could not detect anything wrong. A waste of money.

Love it but it has major flaws.
Im still newbie in the world of shavettes so if your a beginner like myself or a vet take it with that perspective in mind. My short background is im pretty much moderately experienced with safety razors be them injector, gem, single edge and double edge(be them open combed, double open comb or slants). For vets i dont regard the muhle r41 as aggressive at all. However the ikon tech and yaqi knight helmet too harsh and not efficient enough to make it worth the harshness and irritation. So in terms of shavettes i can complete 2 passes so far. I can go with the grain and across the grain except across the neck. I can go against the great only on the neck area. I finish off my shave with a de razor. I currently own: The vanta razor The irving barber co shavette The samurai classic shavette The focus slim shavette The kai captain de version chinese kamisori clone. What can i say this is one of my favorite shavette so far. Its incredibly smooth and glides on your skin more than some i have and has great materials and heft to it. The clasp is very secure but easier to open and close compared to the samurai classic where i have to struggle and use a towel to be safe putting or taking out a blade. The only 2 negative things which can make or break for some is the following. The razor is very scale heavy. Yup this throws the balance off the razor significantly. I thought it wouldn't effect the shave which it does but it can be accommodated to by changing hand positioning. For me going between 2 fingers on each side or just dt using one finger ot shank and 3 on the tail works very well. The last con is that its not as comfortable to hold especially with 3 fingers on the tail depending on how you grip it can feel uncomfortable. Otherwise for me this is a definitely a great shavette which today was my first shave and it was a great experience bring my first parker shavette and my 2nd razor including the Parker variant which i love. Parker razors unless things change are made in india they usually have issues with quality control in the beginning but they are good at fixing it down the line. Hope it helps and wish you many awesome shaves on your journey! UPDATE : With that out of the way. I must mend my review in the heft of the scales are not only annoying but very dangerous as it makes the shavette floppy thus possibly more prone to accidents.

Great build quality, almost 4 years and still going strong.
I used it as the first step of traditional single blade wetshaving. Got a bunch of cuts over the first few weeks. Don't worry if you do, keep at it, eventually you will get the skill to shave on wet skin without soap/lather too. Coming to the shavette, it is truly Stainless steel, though I think it is SS303 or SS304 rather than SS316. There are only two copper alloy pegs on which the blade gets aligned so that it does not move when pushed back by the body surface or hair (when it is being cut). And a plastic bush between the SS scales of the razor. Grip is fantastic and has a reassuring heft to it. ITs a very capable razor, which can elevate your shaving experience when used with the correct blade as per sharpness+smoothness. The blades are not recommended, as everyone's skin is different, I would rather recommend a blade sampler pack. I am happy with Gillette Super Thins, Gillette 7-o-clock SP (black), VI-John Chrome. This thing has only discoloured/dulled slightly as compared to July 2021 when I got it. I don't use it as frequently now as I prefer DE razors, but once in a while I use it to shave other body hair and sometimes on the wet face when I am too busy to enjoy the full shaving experience. Fantastic product, will recommend Parker razors. There is a group on reddit called Wetshavers_India. It's a fantastic resource for all things Shaving in India. My only advice is that you should be very careful when handling this (or ANY SHAVETTE). In the first few weeks, 3 cuts to my hands (both hands) simply because I wasn't careful enough. That's the best part. You LEARN to concentrate on your shaving technique when using a shavette. Else it is a very unforgiving mistress. The discipline helps you when you start using DE razors.

Good and useful with attention for details
It looks quite good, it’s written is in stainless steel, now I don’t know if it’s entirely on this material or just the flap who holds the blade, anyway in 2 months of use I noticed no rust anywhere, it keeps nicely the blade in place and the exposure of it is very minimum so it results to be gentle on the skin, I mean, gentle to be a shavette which usually they are not and of course, requires some skill to use it properly. The finishes are amazing, if I have to say one defect I would say the chrome finish let you leave all your fingerprints on it, but that’s ok.

Perfect beginners or advances product
Product is so nice and the design is just perfect. I was a beginner at one stage and now I am a pro. But this one is just awesome. Comes with plenty of blades (each of them last very long). Handling with wet hands can be challenging sometimes but that could be any razors. Weight and material of the product make it best amongst the top other branded ones.

Ben fatto e maneggevole
Ottimo prodotto. Maneggevole e di ottima qualità. Unica pecca è che manca un fodero adeguato per riporlo ma il prodotto è davvero ben fatto. Lo consiglio
